Restoran Todak (Orang Asli), Johor Bahru

I believe the best seafood at Johor Bahru will be no other but Restoran Todak (Orang Asli). Thanks to my long soul mate, May Lynne who introduced me this place. The amazing part is she is not a Johorian. Shame on me.

Anyway, this restaurant is facing right in front of Singapore! They are located beside the sea called Straits of Johor. Amazing experience! Oh ya, warning to those who activated their roaming service on their mobile phone, you will probably get a Singapore network here instead of your own local network. So be careful. You wouldn't want to argue with your local network provider on the reason for charging you a roaming charges when you never been to Singapore for that particular month.

Over here at this place has 2 other seafood restaurants like this. So please make sure you do not ended up in the wrong one.
Welcome and let's head to our table.
Port of Singapore is just in front of us. So please don't expect the sea to be sparkling clean ya?
Mussels @RM10.00/plate (small)
We did not order any fish because we are only dining here for two pax only. If you are coming in a bigger group, please do try their fish because their fishes are fresh and healthy. Not like some restaurants congested their tiny fish tank with all the fishes. When too many fishes in one tank, the will tend to hurt each other and which is spoiling the meat.
Sea snail @RM18.00/plate (small)
Eight Angle Oyster (direct Chinese translation) @RM5.00/piece
Pearl Scallop @RM3.00/piece
Fresh Oyster @RM9.00/piece
Crab @ RM50.00/kg
This is a process on how they prepare the prawns before cook.
These are Tiger Prawns which is cost @RM80.00/kg
They caught the prawns and put into a bucket with full of ice water.
Looks a bit cruel but this is how to freeze the prawn to the death before they are ready to be cooked

Lobster!!! I do not know the price as we did not order this. I may have missed it. I will order it in my next visit.
Other variety of fishes. You must try their grouper because it is really taste good! According to my dear May Lynne.
We were there at 6.00pm which is quite early and not many people are there yet. However after 7.00pm, this place has become crowded.
Coconut is the best drink to accompany seafood apart of white wine. It is cost at RM4.50++.

Taste: 5/5

Overall: 4/5 - I can assuring you that this is the best crab I ever had! We eat all of them because they cooked it until the shell is so soft. Almost like a soft shell crab. The meat are so fresh and fleshy. I never enjoy having a crab like the way I did here. The best way to cook a crab is none others but butter.

Look at the tool for breaking the crab shell. So big! Anyway, we hardly using it because we devoured the crab shell as well.

Complimentary fruits! These fruits are so sweet and delicious even though they are free!
