Mandarin Grill @Mandarin Oriental

Image
It is another great hangout with an old friend again and this time is Pei San. We did a lot of catch up on that day and enjoy our amazing dining experience at Mandarin Grill which is located inside the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. This restaurant has non-stop giving me surprises with their exciting menu which changes regularly. One of my favorite restaurants that you won't ever get bored of dining at all the time. No spectacular scene to be expected here but this greenery scene of KLCC park is good enough to make your day either you came in for lunch or dinner. Unlike any other restaurants who prefer to put whatever bread they are serving on that day on the table for you, what this restaurant did was presenting their bread of the day in front of us to let us choose from it. For displaying purpose, so we chose each of every type of breads. 4 different breads gave us 4 different kind of tastes. Truly amazing! Lobster Bisque @RM38.00++ Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 4/5 Taste:

Hui Lau Shan @The Mines

It is our rare privately brother sister gathering again. Not going to have a dinner because we got a wedding dinner to attend later. Yup, it was my dearest ex-colleague, Ms. Loke Yean Ling's wedding. Taking this opportunity to wish her again for a very happy marriage life! As for us, we will just have our dessert at Hui Lau Shan. This is a famous Hong Kong dessert chain restaurant has all over China, Hong Kong and Macau. I cannot count how many they have over there but just Malaysia alone there are 20 branches. Very exaggerating enough like opening a McDonalds or KFC. So let's find out how good they actually are. Heavenly Brew Bird's Nest & Coconut @RM18.90++ Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 3/5 Taste: 3/5 Price: 2/5 Overall: 3/5 - The name sound captivating. The look is astonishing. However, the taste is way off our expectation. All I can taste is lots of coconut milk in it. The bird nest hardly captured between my teeth. How can this dessert is their Top 10 most p

Hong Kong's Food Culture @Low Yat Plaza

Image
Mimicking the old Hong Kong cafe style, Hong Kong's Food Culture has make their impression at Low Yat Plaza. Not just the appearance, even their menu has all the famous Hong Kong food. Ceylon Tea @RM4.00++ - You just can't miss the Hong Kong style of milk tea. So smooth and fragrance. Ma Yau Rice Soup @RM14.80++ Outlook: 3/5 Creativity: 4/5 Taste: 4/5 Price: 4/5 Overall: 3/5 - Never stingy with the ingredients especially the fish. The bowl looks bigger than the picture itself. You will most likely can't finish the whole bowl. It is quite tasty too.  Fish Ball Soup (10pcs) @RM9.20++ Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 3/5 Taste: 3/5 Price: 3/5 Overall: 3/5 - This is just average even though this is one of their signature. The reason is because the fish ball is lack of fish taste in it. Wanton Lo Min (5pcs) @RM9.50++ Outlook: 3/5 Creativity: 4/5 Taste: 4/5 Price: 3/5 Overall: 3/5 - I have to give a double "like" to the noodle itself. It

Villa Danieli @Sheraton Imperial Hotel

Image
It is another outing with Shirley and this time I chose Villa Danieli which is located in Sheraton Imperial Hotel. This is an Italian restaurant but we did not order any Italian cuisine. The seating are limited to this area only because the rest of the tables are reserved for an ongoing event. Pretty noisy and has spoiled the quiet and romantic ambiance of this restaurant. This restaurant only opens on Saturday night during the weekend so there is a big chance that you will bump into an event if you plan to dine on the weekend. I like the sauce that is accompany with this bread which I have yet to taste in other restaurants yet. As for the bread, it was just average. Wild Mushroom Soup @RM38.00++ Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 4/5 Taste: 4/5 Price: 2/5 Overall: 3/5 - This is a sharing portion. Made from selected mushrooms with crispy enoki mushroom, cream ricotta cheese and truffle oil. Delicious crunchy bits and with the fragrance that is so unique. BBQ Glazed Lamb R

Ozeki Tokyo Cuisine, Menara TA One

Image
A rare date with Jeslyn after 8 long years of friendship, Since it is rare, I got to invite her to a Japanese Restaurant which is known as Ozeki Tokyo Cuisine. She has not tasted any Japanese cuisine for more than 6 months. I believe she will not be let down by this restaurant. Located inside the building of Menara TA One and the parking here is chargeable at RM5.00 per entry during the weekends. Sekiwake Moriawase with Chutoro and Otoro @RM252.00++ Outlook: 5/5 Creativity: 5/5 Taste: 5/5 Price: 2/5 Overall: 4/5 - 8 different kinds of fish with chutoro and otoro. All are 2 pieces each except salmon with 4 pieces and maguro with 3 pieces. If without the chutoro and otoro, the price is only RM148.00++ which is pretty reasonable. Without a doubt, their chutoro and otoro are worth to order as well. I love how a meat slowly melt in my mouth. Even their simple maguro is so delicious and I reckon that this is one of the best maguro I have tasted so far. Namakaki (6pc

On the Road Cafe, Kluang

Image
On the Road Cafe has already made their name in Kluang with their delicious cheesecake. I already known this cafe for some time but only now I am writing about it after being requested by some of my hometown friends. This cafe serves cheesecake, coffee and some delicious set lunch. Their main attraction is still their cheesecake which cost from RM7.90 onwards. They do sell whole cake too which you need to make an advanced booking. Not a very big cafe so the seat is very limited and they always crowded with people especially on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. You really unable to seat back and relax while having a cup of coffee with a cheesecake because there are always people roaming in to wait for a seat. You will feel pretty uncomfortable not to finish up your things to give up your seat. There are other options to get your seat which are seating at their bar table where you can watching the boss making coffee or you can seat outside the cafe where the smoking area is. Do enjo
