Today I was highly recommended by my newly met Bruneian friends to this awesome restaurant which is know as Hommed Baga. In English, it means Homemade Burger. The restaurant is not very big but easily full during lunch and dinner hour. We were there early to avoid the crowd. This is the counter which looks bare and nothing. However, what makes this restaurant so awesome is yet to come. This restaurant is practicing self-service. The owner started from a small burger stall into a chain restaurant like this. He has owned 3 chain restaurants all over Brunei. The reason he is this good is because he will never use processed meat. The meat he served are minced by themselves. That's why it is homemade. This trip is my third trip to Brunei and is the best trip ever among all. The reason is I get to know some nice local Bruneian to take me around to try their Bruneian cuisine at Restoran Dan Khidmat Sajian Kaka. Special thanks to Mars Liew to make this happened. Spending in Brunei is really high especially they are sharing same exchange rate with Singapore. Therefore people will think that travelling in Brunei will be very costly. Honestly, apart of the trip in Kampung Ayer , there is not many places that you need to spend a lot of money on their tourist spots. Some are even for free! Agro Technology Park is one of the example of free entrance tourist spot. Walking through the park’s main entrance, you will be greeted with a huge welcome sign on pillars, embellished with colourful flowers. You can choose to take in the scenery by taking a buggy or a bus, which are provided by the park, but the best way is to walk. This park is really huge! It is officially opened on the last quarter of 2013 and I would really say everything is very well maintained even though it is free entrance. For a small country like Brunei, they do have a lot of beach spots around with well equipped facility. Berakas beach is one their beaches. Not the famous one but still it is a well maintained beach I would say.  There is no entry charges or parking charges or any charges applied to use the facility here. Unlike in Malaysia, if without these charges, the facility will be vandalized and definitely there is no swing at all over here. That's the sad part about Malaysia's beaches.  Berakas beach is not a big and popular beach to compare their most famous beach which is the Serasa Beach or Muara Beach. However, this beach is just nice because the crowd over here is smaller and you will get the barbecue pit easily without the need to come early for booking. From Kota Kinabalu to get to Brunei can be done from air, sea and land. From land, there is a bus from Inanam Bus Terminal to Brunei at 8.00am which cost you RM100. The journey is 8 hours and there is one stop for lunch at Lawas. Same thing if you are from Brunei to Kota Kinabalu, the bus will depart at 8.00am at B$45.00. Alternatively, you can take a ferry to Brunei which is also depart at 8.00am. However, there is a transit at Labuan for 2 hours. The total journey is 6 hours to reach jetty and additional 1 hour to reach Bandar Seri Bengawan. You probably will save 1 hour if to compare with a bus ride. RM68.60 for an all inclusive ferry fare for a Malaysian. Malaysian will get 50% discount off for the jetty fee only.
