Kedai Makan Kong Teck, Sandakan

Image
This will be my last post for my Sandakan trip. I hope you enjoy it and I know some of you have started yelling at me to show some Klang Valley post instead. Well, you are going to have it tomorrow. As for now, let me do a finale for my trip at Sandakan with another local signature dish which they are popular with their fish ball, fish paste and almost everything is about fish. The place is called Kedai Makan Kong Teck.  The pot which is ready to make some great noodles! 虾腐 - It is a prawn paste 鱼腐 - This is the fish paste 鱼卷 - Fish roll 鱼交 - Fish wantan (top) and  鱼滑 - Fish Dumplings (bottom) Basically how you order is to pick any of those above toppings on your favorite noodle available here. They will just prepare the rest. 老鼠粉 + 鱼腐 虾腐 鱼滑 鱼交 Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 4/5 Taste: 4/5 Overall: 4/5 - I really like their  老鼠粉  which also known as Silver Needle Noodles. I was told it is handmade by themselv...

7-Heaven Dessert Parlor, Sandakan

Image
Apart of the Restoran Dragon, 7- Heaven placed the second in my heart as one of the best place to be at Sandakan. 7-Heaven is the dessert parlor which specialized in their ice-cream and their signature dessert is the yogurt ice-cream.  Fancy desert parlor and live up to the reputation! Their ice cream counter. You just need to sit and order unless you plan to take away their ice cream cone at RM3.50. Please do not compare with RM1.00 McDonald's ice cream ya? Look at the crowd here! Fully packed! They have a smoking area at the back of this shop. Fried Ice-Cream @RM5.90 Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 4/5 Taste: 1/5 Price: 2/5 Overall: 2/5 - Started off with a disappointing fried ice-cream. Only vanilla ice cream to choose. Not much variety. The worst part is the fried skin. The crust is stale and it is the main spoiler for this whole dessert and something to start with. Exolic Green Tea Podium @RM9.90 Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 3/5 Taste: 5/5 Price: 3/5...

Restoran Dragon, Sandakan

Image
The greatest achievement I had the most is for able to find Restoran Dragon where they have the best egg tart I ever had in my life. Sorry to say to Tong Kee Breads & Tarts Confectionery which has been known at Klang Valley for their best egg tarts, they are not the best after all. They should come over to Sandakan to try this egg tart and you will know that they are far from the best. Their egg tart is very hot selling! Two trays of egg tarts are finished within 30 seconds and I watch it live on how fast the egg tarts are sold off.  Another Sandakan speciality, Cow Dung Tart. Does it looks like a cow dung to you? Hahaha...it is a very delicious cow dung. This is sold in one of the stall in Sandakan and not in Restoran Dragon. I just wanted to show you that this is the sample of cow dung. Cow Dung Tart @RM1.40 Outlook: 5/5 Creativity: 5/5 Taste: 5/5 Price: 4/5 Overall: 4/5 - This is the cow dung from Restoran Dragon. I am lucky enough to get this last one w...

Rainforest Discovery Centre, Sandakan

Image
Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilation Center is top in the list to visit in Sandakan while Rainforest Discovery Centre comes second which is located just few hundred meters away from the  Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilation Center . This is the place where you get close with the thick Tropical Rainforest. If you have telephoto lens with the capability of 300mm and above, you are advised to carry them to shoot the birds and some wild creatures.  The entrance fee for myKad holders will be RM5.00/pax and child RM2.00/pax. For other nationalities, RM10.00/pax. They are opened everyday from 8.00am - 5.00pm. You will be given a map of the jungle and also the sticker to prove your valid entrance. They have buggies here but it is not for rent. I wonder what are they for. My girl and her mum highly introduce me to this place. Please enjoy the following great photos of the flora & fauna. ...
