Tasik Biru Kangkar Pulai, Johor Bahru

Image
At Johor Bahru, there is a majestic blue lake which is known as Tasik Biru Kangkar Pulai. It is a hidden gem within Masai, Johor Bahru.  The reason it is blue is because of the iron ore quarry nearby. The blue color is from the mineral called copper sulphate but I am not sure if that's the real reason for it because whenever there is a blue lake like this, there will be a iron ore quarry beside of it. Another good example is Tasik Biru Bukit Ibam Muadzam Shah, Pahang. I believe there are other more which you can share with me the location of the blue lake with an iron ore quarry beside it on the comments below. Thanks. A panoramic view of the blue lake. Click to enlarge the picture. To get to here, simple key in "Tasek Biru Kangkar Pulai" into your Waze app. It will leads you directly to this place. There are no designated parking place, so you just have to park beside the main road.  It is not difficult to hike because I saw kids have no problem cli...

Teluk Sengat Crocodile Farm, Ayer Tawar

Image
The first time we are bringing our new member in our family for a family day trip is to Teluk Sengat Crocodile Farm. The farm is located 1 hour away from Johor Bahru and 30 minutes away from Desaru. The price of the ticket is RM8 (adult) and RM6 (child). For kids below 4 years old is free.  They built a path with shed with the crocodile cage on the either side. There is a wooden platform for us to step on it to look at the crocodile.  Too bad the platform is good for adult but not the kids. The kids will need the adults to carry them. There is a large lake where all the crocodiles can roam freely at this area. I cannot imagine myself if I fell into this place. I believe there are hundreds of crocodiles with various of sizes waiting for me. Actually this place is for the female crocodiles to find a nest to lay their eyes. They separate the crocodiles by their ages.  I didn't see any baby crocodiles but this is the smallest that I have seen in the fa...

AOV Paintball Trading, Johor Bahru

Image
Paintball which is also can be known as "Pain Ball" for me, which is one of the best teamwork activities that will requires strategy, stamina and speed. AOV is established since 2009. It was started by a group of passionate sport lover to promote outdoor sport and paintball is the first recreational sport activity chosen. It takes many hardship for the group to build up the field and facilities which is now call “Outdoor Learning & Adventure Asia Park” (OLA Park) and has expanded with more activities such as Archery and Bubble Ball to continue promoting more sport for all. The present park is able to accommodate group size of up to 200 participants. Kids are not allowed to play but they can start to learn to do target practice under adult supervision. As a father myself, I really do encourage to bring your young ones to start to engage with activities like this rather than playing with a gadget. Get under the sun and enjoy the fun with sweat. The memories are pricel...

Rock climbing has always being a trend but finding a great location to do it safely is still questionable. At Johor Bahru, there is a place where you can enjoy rock climbing safely and the best part is you able to do it away from the sun. The place is called Rockworld. The Hare by Sugar On Top, Austin Height

Image
Another magnificent cafe has opened at Austin Heights. It is way too many cafes here and the competition is really tough.  So for this cafe to be more appealing than the others, they really invested a lot of money with their interior design. It is a cheerful, peaceful and bright cafe. It is really relaxing in a sense. You can tell that by the look of my boy who is usually so active but willing to settle down with his hot milk@RM5.90++. I had a caffeinated ice matcha @RM12.90++ and my wife had her Americano @RM7.90++. We do enjoy their coffee very much. It is not a bad place for a cup of coffee like this.  Their food menu is not just limited but most of them are out of stock which gave us no other better choice but to end up with this Carbonara "Hare"Style @RM20.90++. It is their signature which featuring smoked duck in it. It was not a bad dish either with creamery broth to entice the entire taste of the spaghetti. Overall, it was a good place to have a ...
