Uncle Don's, Solaris Dutamas

Image
Chef Don Daniel Theseira is the owner of Duke & Duchess and Uncle Don's who has the concept of serving good quality food and beverage at a very low price in a 5 stars environment. He is from Melaka with 38 years and counting in culinary in Malaysia, Singapore and Australia. He had opened 5 branches in Klang Valley and I am expecting to be more in other cities soon. I like their idea of hiring Philippines instead of other countries is because the Philippines can speak a better than English and able to communicate well with the locals. Grilled Chicken Chop @RM11.80++ Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 3/5 Taste: 3/5 Price: 5/5 Overall: 3/5 - A plate like this just cost RM11.80++??? Seriously where can you get? The cheapest price I could find so far is RM5.00 more. I can't be complaining more for such a price. The taste was acceptable just the rice was a bit dry and hard. Coffee Stain by Joseph @Publika, Solaris Dutamas

Image
Thanks to all newly open cafes in Klang Valley, Baristas are getting very popular nowadays. There are a lot of demands for them and even there are professional schools with certification to give them the knowledge and technique they needed to produce a great coffee for us to enjoy. Coffee Stain is one of the cafe that is producing a lot of award winning barristas. They have two branches in KL which are located at Fahrenheit88 and this one will be inside the Publika. Both managed by professional barristas. You will definitely will not let down by their skills. Affogato @RM12.95 - Affogato is always my favorite drinks if I wanted to have some caffeine. The best part is Coffee Stain just made me loving it even more! The coffee shot is bitter at the very first second but the moment after that the true coffee fragrance roaming out into our mouth. The pleasant makes you understand the reason for so many people falling in love with coffee. Dark Chocolate @RM10.95 - One thing spe...

Namoo @Publika, Solaris Dutamas

Image
Elayne jie introduced to me a very special and unique restaurant which is known as Namoo. This is a fusion Korean with Western style. I can't believe a traditional Korean cuisine can be evolved into a very different style which makes food becomes more adventurous and amazing. We just won't get boring with the creativity.    Multi-Grain Tea Hot @RM9.90++. Nothing special because it is quite tasteless. However, I have to mention that their drink menu is quite different than ordinary too especially under the Korean Specialty Drinks category . This drink is one of the example. Korean Soya & Honey Ttuk Bok Gi @RM14.90++ Outlook: 3/5 Creativity: 3/5 Taste: 3/5 Price: 2/5 Overall: 3/5 - Not sure where is the soya taste. It is a Korean rice cake which is same like our Chinese's Chee Cheong Fun for me. The only difference is just the gravy is using honey instead of sweet soy sauce. Bibi Rice Burger @RM21.90++ Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 4/5 Taste: 4/5 Pric...

Little Korea, Mont Kiara

Image
Everyone has been ringing on my ears about how delicious Little Korea is and becoming their best ever Korean Restaurant in their heart. A claim like that, I just cannot miss. So here I am testing them myself together with my auntie from London and my mom for her first Korean experience. I pretty convince that this is a good Korean restaurant by having most Korean customers to dine in their restaurant. However, the restaurant is not crazy pack like Seoul Korea . This is the free side dish which is quite tasty with their sourish spicy taste. The steamed egg is quite good but one of the bowl is badly done because overly cooked as you can see the black darken area at the side. 10 extra side dishes for unlimited refill and the best is the fish cake. Other than that are below par. Mo Deum (Pork Set) @RM110.00++ Three different part of pork to pleasure us completely. Finally it is done! Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 4/5 Taste: 4/5 Price: 3/5 Overall: 3/5 - T...

San Nae Deul Korean BBQ, Solaris Dutamas

Image
It is time for another Korean cuisine. It has been really long time since the last one. So I decided to find one at Publika since this place is getting more and more restaurants. The restaurant is very visible front the main road and as you can see it is known as San Nae Deul Korean BBQ. We are too early? Quite empty. These are their side dishes that they offer. I will rate their side dishes as below average because nothing special for me to share with you all here. Cochujang Samcyp Sal @RM30.00++ Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 4/5 Taste: 4/5 Price: 3/5 Overall: 3/5 - This is a spicy pork belly. I made a right choice to choose this because the spiciness is well blended with the meat. All the fragrance roam into your mouth when you took the first bite. After cook. Sadly, this restaurant only serve beef, pork and chicken meat only. Lack of varieties make me only order the pork. Dakdori Tang @RM55.00++ Outlook: 3/5 Creativity: 3/5 Taste: 3/5 Price: 3/5 Overall:...

Magenta, Publika Shopping Gallery

Image
Publika consolidated so many mid-end restaurants to high-end restaurants here. Just too many for me to explore one by one but anyway at end up with this Magenta restaurant. The restaurant layout. Just take note that the food I have ordered under special lunch promotion for 2 which is choose any 2 of their 5 delicious food at RM39.90++ only. This set is inclusive of free selective drinks. Aglio Olio Mushroom Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 3/5 Taste: 3/5 Overall: 3/5 - Quite delicious. Not bad. Just any other ordinary Aglio Olio. "Not so ordinary" Chicken Rice Outlook: 5/5 Creativity: 5/5 Taste: 4/5 Overall: 4/5 - Honestly, the main reason for me to sit in this restaurant is because of this. I wanted to try how not so ordinary chicken rice can it be. Well, from the outlook, they looks different. As for the taste, it indeed taste better than any other chicken rice stall. But the question is this chicken rice cost RM29.00++ if you order ala-carte. Does it worth ...

Wasabi Bistro, Mandarin Oriental

Image
Hometown mate is here again to have a nice dinner with me at Wasabi Bistro which is located inside the high class Mandarin Oriental. The first restaurant opened is at Honolulu, Hawaii which later on it brings over to Malaysia and Singapore. They are not an ordinary Japanese restaurant. They are a fusion of French and Japanese in it. So I will not order any Japanese food today. I will just order their signature foods. So expect no Sashimi in this post. This is served for free. It is really appetizing! Kumi's No.1 @RM16.00++/pc Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 5/5 Taste: 4/5 Price: 2/5 Overall: 3/5 - First signature dish...Avocado wrapped with white fish and turns to be like a mini mash potatoes for me. Taste really delicious but one is just enough. Papaya Motoyaki @RM38.00++ Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 5/5 Taste: 4/5 Price: 2/5 Overall: 3/5 - This is delicious! I like the combination of the baked cheese together with the fresh seafood and sweet papaya! They mixe...
