Hotel Grand Riverview, Kota Bahru

Can you believe it 10 years after I passed my SPM, I only managed to attend my Malay old schoolmates wedding. The amazing part is the wedding is held on exactly the last day of the 10th year. Yes, it was exactly a month ago, 31st December 2011. Ever since my primary school, I have been always close with Malay friends and in secondary school, I become more niche by having most of my friends are Malay female only. There is a long story for it but I am not going to share it now. Don't worry. Haha...who knows even when I started my business now, the race which is sustaining it is still the Malays. Glad that they are around. Because of the flexibility of my business I am able to attend one of my good friends during my old days even the wedding is held at Kota Bahru, exactly 9 hours non-stop drive with average speed of 130km/h. Who is that lucky girl? Haha...her name is Mas Azeera. You can check her blog here . She is a very cool, high self-confidence & self-esteem and pretty gi

Sushi King, Kluang

Image
I have to thank Sushi King for introduce me to Japanese food. Yes, it is Sushi King who bring my crazy indulgence on Japanese food. At that time Sushi Zanmai not existed yet, since most likely everyone now would think it supposed to be Sushi Zanmai who is capable in doing that instead. Well, absolutely true. When I had my Sushi King back recently after more than 5 years, I really asked myself how come Sushi King could ever make me love Japanese food at the first place with such a quality?? More explanations with pictures will be the answer... Ginger Soda @RM3.90++ - Carbonated ginger drink...nothing special to elaborate more. Sausage Maki - 2/5, sausage in a sushi still quite new for me. Restoran Hoi Yin, Teluk Cempedak

If you at Teluk Cempedak, Kuantan, do not ever overlook this small little restaurant which is serving extremely delicious curry mee. The restaurant name is called Restoran Hoi Yin. You may think that this is a Chinese restaurant and they may not serve halal food. If you really think like this, you really make a mistake because they are serving halal food and their Muslim customers are way more than Chinese customers. This is their place they tables arranged until next door shops. This is the auntie making the delicious curry mee! This is their price. I would like to try their mee kicap next time. Curry Mee @RM4.00 Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 4/5 Taste: 4/5 Price: 4/5 Overall: 4/5 - I like the gravy. It is not really spicy but the right spicy kick is still there. The oyster is not too fishy. Nice. They are famous but they are humble. It is very essential to sustain a business nowadays. I really enjoy when they are not showing their cocky attitude when they have ma

Mohamed Ishak Bin Mohamed Ibrahim, Batu Pahat

There is a story about Bill Gates was dining in the restaurant with his son together with his some other staffs. When the time paying the bills, his son gave a $500 tips to the waiter while Bill Gates was giving only $5. The waiter was shocked with the huge difference between the two father and son. However, he was brave enough to confront with Bill Gates to seek for the reason for only giving $5. Bill Gates replied, "He is the son of the richest man in the world while I am just the son of a woodcutter." Well, I hope you understand from this story which is going to be relevant with my following post. If you ask me where is the best cendol that I had in my life, definitely I will not say Malacca or Penang where everyone thought it to be and of course even the big Klang Valley does not contain any best cendol. The best will be at Batu Pahat, Johor. Their cendol shop name is the founder itself, Mohamed Ishak Bin Mohamed Ibrahim.  You must be asking why am I claiming tha

Restoran Seafood Bao Bao, Taman Intan

Food searching during night time at Kluang can't never be that hard at all. Most of them serve a decent meal but in order to remain unique and competitive, each restaurant will specialized their signature dish and making sure the signature is unique enough to be own by them only. Restoran Seafood Bao Bao is one of them. Maybe you thought their signature dish is seafood but actually seafood is not the one brought this place to fame but actually is their "kuey tiau zai".  Kuey Tiau Zai @RM1.50 Outlook: 3/5 Creativity: 5/5 Taste: 5/5 Price: 4/5 Overall: 4/5 - This kuey tiau is plain and small portion. But the best of this plain kuey tiau is the soup. It is full of Chinese herb fragrance which is not just smell but after you eat it, the great taste of it still left in your mouth. They really put a lot of effort in this soup. Pipa Chicken @RM16.00 Outlook: 3/5 Creativity: 4/5 Taste: 3/5 Price: 3/5 Overall: 3/5 - I do not understand why it is call

Williams Mamak @SS26

Image
Have you been to a mamak restaurant but serving western food? If you have not, you better make your point here at Williams Mamak @SS26. Originally, they are located by the road side with a shabby wooden shelter for their restaurant. After the place has been abolished for building a food court, they shifted to a shop lot which is located at the same place as well. This new place is much more nicer and cleaner than the previous one. However, they maintain their same style by no business board and no menu will be given when ordering their food. You can always ask for their recommendation. Be warn that their food is cooked in extra large size which can fit for 2-3 pax. That's what the waiter failed to warn us when we ordering our own food. Not just their food but their drinks as well is in big jug! Western desserts are available too! Their drinks counter Their kitchen. This is how it is look like from outside. You will not notice them by searching for their busine

Restoran Todak (Orang Asli), Johor Bahru

Image
I believe the best seafood at Johor Bahru will be no other but Restoran Todak (Orang Asli). Thanks to my long soul mate, May Lynne who introduced me this place. The amazing part is she is not a Johorian. Shame on me. Anyway, this restaurant is facing right in front of Singapore! They are located beside the sea called Straits of Johor. Amazing experience! Oh ya, warning to those who activated their roaming service on their mobile phone, you will probably get a Singapore network here instead of your own local network. So be careful. You wouldn't want to argue with your local network provider on the reason for charging you a roaming charges when you never been to Singapore for that particular month. Over here at this place has 2 other seafood restaurants like this. So please make sure you do not ended up in the wrong one.  Welcome and let's head to our table. Port of Singapore is just in front of us. So please don't expect the sea to be sparkling clean ya?
