Redang Kalong @Pulau Redang

Image
Ever since when I was in high school, Pulau Redang is always my dream island because of the influence of my fellow classmates whom always describe this island as a heaven's land. White sandy beach with a sky blue sea. That's how they described it after they had their sweet school break with their family. Too bad that my family is not that luxury to do this kind of trip.So I have to earn my own money for my own favourite travel and finally I am here. We are departing from Merang Jetty and there are no other transportation to reach Merang Jetty but a taxi which is cost RM15.00/way/pax. Actually it is better to depart from Shahbandar jetty which is nearer to Kuala Terengganu city and bus station. Anyway, it is depending on which resort you are staying with. If you are staying with Redang Kalong, you are going to depart from Merang Jetty. Unlike Pulau Perhentian , there is no fixed time table for the boat schedule. Therefore, you are advised to consult your own resort for the

Sukiya is a fast food Japanese restaurant which is very well known at Japan and right now they make their investment in our country. They have over 1000 branches throughout the whole Japan. While there is only 2 Sukiya in Malaysia at this moment which is one at USJ Taipan and one is located just opposite the Sunway Giza mall. It is self-service like any other ordinary fast food chain restaurant in Malaysia. They become so popular in Japan is because they are very fast and affordable for the employees in Japan where speed lunch is highly in demand. Mayo Teriyaki Chicken Set @RM9.90++, Tofu Set @RM5.00++ and Edamame Set @RM4.00++ Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 3/5 Taste: 3/5 Price: 3/5 Overall: 3/5 - Tofu and edamame is not good. Tofu is tasteless while the edamame is over boiled. As for the Mayo Teriyaki Chicken, it is acceptable and not really that bad at all for a quick lunch like this.  A closer look on the Mayo Teriyaki Chicken. These are prepared in front of you in le

Gangnam 88 @Sunway Giza, Kota Damansara

The word "Gangnam" is like an outbreak all over the world since more than 3 years ago. No one doesn't know this word no matter what language you speak. Somehow it becomes an international language and all thanks to Psy for his "Oppa Gangnam style" song. Now everyone will try to put the word "Gangnam" in their company name inclusive this restaurant which is known as Gangnam 88. A lot of famous Korean celebrity posters are pasted here. Everyone knows now the Korean fever has outclassed all other Asia country become the most popular in whole Asia. They do sell the fashionable Korean style cap here too. The decoration in this restaurant is not very Korean style. It is more like a Korean cuisine served in the famous Ben's General Food Store .  Galbi Lunch Set @RM25.00++ Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 4/5 Taste: 4/5 Price: 3/5 Overall: 3/5 - Delicious grilled pork belly in a pan. We used to see them to grill in their own station or on o

Kurotomon, City Square

Image
Here we are again for the second round of Japanese restaurant stakeout. This time happened in Johor Bahru. It is a Ramen shop known as Kurotomon which is located inside the City Square. This is also another branch that starts at Singapore first before brought into our country. Getting into City Square is a pain because of the traffic coming in and out from the custom. Sometimes I just would want to skip this place if is not when Shirley requested me to. Japanese Green Tea comes in a pot like this and it is chargeable at RM6.00/pot. They do provide cold towel which is chargeable at RM1.00 for one. You can request them to take away the towel if you do not plan to use them. Aigamo (Shio) @RM13.00++ Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 4/5 Taste: 4/5 Price: 3/5 Overall: 3/5 - Apart of ramen, they have a series of grilled delicacies such as this duck meat to serve. They will grilled in their kitchen before served on our table. Exteremely delicious and it is a must order when you are

Brotzeit German Bier Bar & Restaurant, MidValley City

Image
A German cuisine this time at Brotzeit German Bier Bar & Restaurant. Very crowded especially after working hours where people will hibernate at this place for at least a glass of German beer. They have a lot of choices of German beer sold here and some that I have never taste or heard before. Maybe I am just not a beer fan. Pork Knuckles @RM85.00++ Presentation: 3/5 Creativity: 3/5 Taste: 1/5 Price: 2/5 Overall: 2/5 - It's never going to be halal food if it's a German cuisine. So I'm sorry, my Muslim friends, but don't worry, you aren't missing out much anyway. I didn't quite like it myself. The food was very greasy and oily. Definitely not one of my favourite ways to have my food. I felt like I've sinned and betrayed my health. I don't even want to know how high my cholesterol level shot up after this meal. Interestingly, many customers ordered for this dish, including two girls who shared this plate between themselves. Mind you, we had

Genji Japanese Restaurant @ PJ Hilton

Image
It is time for another Japanese cuisine post to please my reader's demand. The number of Japanese restaurant opened in Malaysia is quicker than the speed I post them here. I am not kidding. Anyway, I will bring you to Genji Japanese Restaurant which is located at PJ Hilton. I thought they should have same Japanese restaurant in all Hilton hotels for example like all Equatorial Hotel has Kampachi Japanese restaurant . So KL Hilton has Iketeru Japanese restaurant while right now where I am going to introduce to you is Genji Japanese restaurant which is at PJ Hilton. Shirley who is also a fan of Japanese cuisine was there with me to try the food quality there. Sashimi Moriawase (5 types) @RM190.00++ Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 3/5 Taste: 4/5 Price: 2/5 Overall: 3/5 - Very expensive and too rigid with the choice which they already stick with which are Sake, Kampachi, Maguro, Ika and Butterfish. You can't change their fixed choices. I hate it. The fishes are fresh whic

Delectable by Su, The Gardens Mall

Image
Time for dessert with my cute Ying Ying and her beautiful mummy, Elayne jie at Delectable by Su. She is getting cuter ever minute and this is the first time I saw so many actions from her. She is growing to become a very cute and pretty girl soon. Can't wait for her to call me godfather. Haha. Delectable is focusing in their desserts and coffees. The exciting part for me is they do sell popcorn here. However, I am already full with the desserts I have ordered below. Maybe next time I will try the popcorn here instead the GSC Signature's popcorn. Tiramisu @RM8.00 Outlook: 3/5 Creativity: 3/5 Taste: 3/5 Price: 2/5 Overall: 2/5 - It is a very small glass of Tiramisu and cost quite expensive. As for the taste, it is acceptable but easily forgotten after a few minutes because it does not really impressed me enough. Anyway, this is a rum flavored Tiramisu so it cannot be that bad. 7 Sins of Chocolate @RM12.00++ Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 3/5 Taste: 3/5 Price:
