清远国际酒店点心,Qingyuan

This round I would like to introduce the dim sum at China. I went to a hotel restaurant which is known to serve good dim sum. The name of the restaurant is called 清远国际酒店点心. Tea set is a must order drinks either you like to drink tea or not. Even you insist that you do not wish to drink anything or wanted to drink something else, a high class restaurant like this will still charge you the tea charges in per head charges. Price is ranging from RMB10 - RMB20 per person. So please do not make a big havoc if you see such charges in your bill even you did not order a tea. Durian Pancake @RMB19.00 Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 4/5 Taste: 3/5 Price: 3/5 Overall: 3/5 - Most likely made from Thai durian. Thai durian is always known as a big shell with not delicious meat inside. So does this pancake.  Porridge with Century Egg @RMB13.00 Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 4/5 Taste: 5/5 Price: 3/5 Overall: 4/5 - I really do not how to make such a smooth porridge and in China, m...

In China, their seafood restaurant is more or less the same like what you see in Malaysia. The only difference is their seafood selections are plenty and they are more transparent on how they cook them. You will seldom see this elephant nose oysters in Malaysia. That is the price of the crab in China. It is selling by per piece instead of per kg. RM19.00/piece is not a bad price at all. Fresh water turtle is very common in China to make good soup. At last, something common in Malaysia. A prawn above prawn? What a scene! Blowfish...a poisonous fish which must be handle with care. Even when you eat. Immediately slaughter in front of you after you have chose your seafood. I doubt I still have the appetite to eat after watching so better leave. Abalone @RMB238.00 Outlook: 3/5 Creativity: 3/5 Taste: 4/5 Price: 2/5 Overall: 3/5 - Not a very big abalone but the price is so expensive. Anyway, the taste is very good. One is just not enough but when th...

湘村馆, Qingyuan

Interestingly dining at China...that's what I want to bring to you about in this post. The location is at Qingyuan which is a northern part of Guangzhou. The restaurant name is called 湘村馆. The interesting part is the food they served and how to eat. This looks like a normal Pork Bone Soup but the way to eat is not. You will be given a pair of of gloves and a straw. That's what you will do to suck the bone marrow. Delicious! A lamb stick? This lamb stick is done very thoughtfully by cover the end with a wrapper for you to hold and eat without staining your fingers. Very delicious with a spicy kick in it. Truly a different experience to eat a lamb. When you are in China, you really have to order a plate of vegetable. Any vegetable will do because their vegetable is very fresh , sweet and juicy. They serve in big portion in cheaper price. You will definitely not able to find the same taste in Malaysia.
