i1 Cafe, Taman Supreme

Image
In the Google Map, it is written I One Cafe. When you have arrived at this cafe, their signboard is written as iI Cafe. When I asked  the staff, it is known as i1 cafe. 1 in number 1 not the word one. Hmm....confusing. Anyway, this cafe is located in a quite secluded location especially during at night, it is so dark and giving you an eerie feeling too. However, when I stepped inside the cafe, I really fall in love with the design and also the space it has given to me. Not a lot of tables but it is ample enough to give every each table a good privacy moment.  You will have to make an order at their counter and they do not accept card. They have specialty coffee with coffee beans from Mexico and Costa Rica.  That's what we were having on that day. A good supper and catch up session.  Spicy Mango Latte @RM13.00 - This drink capture my attention the most among all other drinks. Obviously because of its exotic kind of combination. The mild spiciness...

Restoran Crab Generation, Taman Len Seng

Image
Due to sudden crave of crab, here I am at Restoran Crab Generation. This restaurant is really focus with their crabs. They have a lot of different ways to cook their crabs. I came to taste their peanut buttery crab which was unfortunately not available on that day. However, I still got a decent crab to taste. So read on! Lala in a Superior Soup @RM28.00++ Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 4/5 Taste: 4/5 Price: 3/5 Overall: 3/5 - The lala is big enough for you to chew longer in your mouth. The superior soup is really good but they put too much ginger in it which has cover up the pure sweetness in the soup instead. Otherwise, I would have given full mark for this. Homemade beancurd with seafood @RM38.00++ Outlook: 5/5 Creativity: 5/5 Taste: 4/5 Price: 3/5 Overall: 4/5 - The tofu itself was quite normal but after having the attractive scallop, baby abalone and prawn beside it, it has changed everything about this dish. It is no longer ordinary when the scallops and the prawn...

Restoran Yulek Wan Tan Mee, Taman Yulek

Image
Restoran Yulek Wan Tan Mee is one of the few who successfully evolved from a hawker stall wantan mee into a one shop lot wantan mee. This success is definitely not comes in a day or a year but more than a decade which started since 1982. They were previously known as Meng Kee Char Siew Wan Tan Mee Stall which located inside the Restoran Meng Shiang Kopitiam.  Look at the busy kitchen which is preparing their best wantan mee to their customers. They just work tirelessly non-stop with different kind of orders on each plate starts from as early as 7.30am - 4.00pm everyday excepts Tuesday. The reason why they are famous is because of their Char Siew. You have to specially request for their half fat and half meat char siew. Otherwise it is not really that delicious when you can't taste the succulent part within the meat.  They do serve other than Char Siew meat too. One of them is the chicken feet. Their chicken feet is well braised and extremely smooth and juicy. As ...

Simple Life, Cheras

Image
Hardly to see a vegetarian restaurant able to open branches all around Malaysia like Pappa Rich or Old Town. However, Simple Life did it. Seems like there is really such a demand by people that can live half a day without meat. Organic Beancurd Hotpot @RM18.90++ Outlook: 3/5 Creativity: 3/5 Taste: 3/5 Price: 3/5 Overall: 3/5 - The side dishes are not impressive but the main dish which is the bean curd is still acceptable. . A closer look on the bean curd. Ginger Extract Brown Rice @RM14.90++ Outlook: 3/5 Creativity: 3/5 Taste: 2/5 Price: 2/5 Overall: 2/5 -  Simple and plain noodle soup. I feel that a normal hawker stall clear soup noodle can taste better than this. Homemade Charcoal Steamed Bread @RM5.90++ Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 4/5 Taste: 4/5 Price: 3/5 Overall: 3/5 - Interesting color for a bread. The taste is amazingly delicious and highly recommended for everyone to try. They do have toast bread too but I prefer a steamed one which is ...

Venezia Italian Restaurant, Cheras

Image
Venezia Italian Restaurant has gone through a lot of obstacles from changing name, changing chef, changing menu, changing price and etc until today. They were once very famous and swarm with customers where you will hardly find a seat there. I heard from their regular customers that they suddenly change their chef and the food become awfully made. From that day onward, from a swarm of people reduce slowly to none. Can you imagine when the time I dine was 7.00pm and the time I left was 9.30pm, not even a single other customer than us coming to this restaurant. That is how terrible their reputation is. However, those are past and they have improved and getting better but no one knows. I hope from my posting here they will able to get some attention. Cream Di Fungi @RM9.00++ Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 4/5 Taste: 5/5 Price: 3/5 Overall: 4/5 - This is the best RM9.00 mushroom soup you can find! Full of mushrooms and creamy enough which makes you selfish enough not to share! ...

Fougasse Boulangerie & Patisserie, Pandan Indah

Image
We have Levain Boulangerie & Patisserie and Ficelle Boulangerie & Patisserie . Now we have Fougasse Boulangerie & Patisserie. Obviously there are from the same owner and these are their branches. Now the third branch taken it's place at the eastern part of KL City which is at Pandan Indah. I prefer they had at the west like Mont Kiara or TTDI. The above pictures just to show you the same range of cakes and dessert like any other branches. Same bakeries too! This UFO Fromage capture my attention the most. Never really try a Japanese Souffle and never try such a big souffle too. I did not order because it is too big for me to have it on my own. However, I will definitely coming back for it. Macaroons! For me, this tiny thing is like an expensive Oreo for me. I really do not know how to appreciate it. Sorry, Macaroons @RM3.60/pc Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 4/5 Taste: 3/5 Price: 1/5 Overall: 3/5 - I still order them anyway because my this friend h...

Talking about Fish Ball Noodle, people at Cheras will never forget Kedai Makanan Jin Man which is located at Taman Tayton. Their legendary fish ball is known for able to replace a ping pong ball. This type of description means that you are going to enjoy the super tangy ball inside your mouth. Let's see whether it is a myth or fact. This restaurant has two shop lots and two stalls making the fish ball noodle. According to the owner, they have to build two cooking place to accommodate with the high demand. So you can imagine how good business they have. Fish maw also known as swim bladder, gas bladder or air bladder. It is an expensive delicacies. This is their another specialty apart of their famous fish ball. Fish Ball Noodle @RM5.00 Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 4/5 Taste: 4/5 Price: 3/5 Overall: 3/5 - The fish ball indeed really good and tangy enough. Do not attempt to pick them up with your chopstick if your skill is not good. Very easily fall off from your chops...

Restoran Khuang Li Yong Tau Foo @Taman Tayton

Image
How many of you have tried places that are recommended by Ho Chak! in 8TV? Today is my first time trying a restaurant which is highly recommended by this TV programme. The restaurant is known as Restoran Khuang Li Yong Tau Foo which is located at Taman Tayton. From the name itself, you should know what they are specialized in...yes, yong tau foo. This is the restaurant and you shouldn't miss it because they always have a decent crowd here. A proof that this is a recommended restaurant by Ho Chak! Pick your own yong tau foo which are freshly made for you. Any special request? Tell them to the friendly boss! You can order their noodles separately. Yummy noodles in process. Ipoh Hor Fun @RM5.00 - Just this one cost RM5.00! Lam Mee @RM5.00 - Another RM5.00. Some shots on their Yong Tau Foo RM1.00/piece which is quite costly for me. FYI, they hike up the price again after my last visit in the few years back. The fried stuff cost the same. S...
