湘村馆, Qingyuan

Image
Interestingly dining at China...that's what I want to bring to you about in this post. The location is at Qingyuan which is a northern part of Guangzhou. The restaurant name is called 湘村馆. The interesting part is the food they served and how to eat. This looks like a normal Pork Bone Soup but the way to eat is not. You will be given a pair of of gloves and a straw. That's what you will do to suck the bone marrow. Delicious! A lamb stick? This lamb stick is done very thoughtfully by cover the end with a wrapper for you to hold and eat without staining your fingers. Very delicious with a spicy kick in it. Truly a different experience to eat a lamb. When you are in China, you really have to order a plate of vegetable. Any vegetable will do because their vegetable is very fresh , sweet and juicy. They serve in big portion in cheaper price. You will definitely not able to find the same taste in Malaysia.

Magenta, Publika Shopping Gallery

Image
Publika consolidated so many mid-end restaurants to high-end restaurants here. Just too many for me to explore one by one but anyway at end up with this Magenta restaurant. The restaurant layout. Just take note that the food I have ordered under special lunch promotion for 2 which is choose any 2 of their 5 delicious food at RM39.90++ only. This set is inclusive of free selective drinks. Aglio Olio Mushroom Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 3/5 Taste: 3/5 Overall: 3/5 - Quite delicious. Not bad. Just any other ordinary Aglio Olio. "Not so ordinary" Chicken Rice Outlook: 5/5 Creativity: 5/5 Taste: 4/5 Overall: 4/5 - Honestly, the main reason for me to sit in this restaurant is because of this. I wanted to try how not so ordinary chicken rice can it be. Well, from the outlook, they looks different. As for the taste, it indeed taste better than any other chicken rice stall. But the question is this chicken rice cost RM29.00++ if you order ala-carte. Does it worth ...

O'Coffee Club, Fahrenheit 88

Image
I had a quick but decent tea time at O' Coffee Club which is located just in front of Fahrenheit 88 shopping mall. Occupying a huge space and beside the main road of the famous Jalan Bukit Bintang, indeed very eye catching. Iced Rambutan @RM13.50++ - Trying something different which is a rambutan drink. Well, in the end is a very disappointing drink. Too much ice which makes this drink pretty tasteless. Mango Creme Brulee Tart @RM17.00++ Outlook: 5/5 Creativity: 5/5 Taste: 4/5 Price: 2/5 Overall: 4/5 - The highlight of this post is this amazing dessert. It is amazing that a normal Creme Brulee can be turned into a tart. Very interesting and delicious which must be discover by yourself to find out my true meaning to it. Total Damage: RM48.15 Ambiance: 4/5 Service: 3/5 Food Serving Speed: Moderate Will I Revisit?: Yes

Wasabi Bistro, Mandarin Oriental

Image
Hometown mate is here again to have a nice dinner with me at Wasabi Bistro which is located inside the high class Mandarin Oriental. The first restaurant opened is at Honolulu, Hawaii which later on it brings over to Malaysia and Singapore. They are not an ordinary Japanese restaurant. They are a fusion of French and Japanese in it. So I will not order any Japanese food today. I will just order their signature foods. So expect no Sashimi in this post. This is served for free. It is really appetizing! Kumi's No.1 @RM16.00++/pc Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 5/5 Taste: 4/5 Price: 2/5 Overall: 3/5 - First signature dish...Avocado wrapped with white fish and turns to be like a mini mash potatoes for me. Taste really delicious but one is just enough. Papaya Motoyaki @RM38.00++ Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 5/5 Taste: 4/5 Price: 2/5 Overall: 3/5 - This is delicious! I like the combination of the baked cheese together with the fresh seafood and sweet papaya! They mixe...

Esquire Kitchen, Sungei Wang Plaza

Image
Lately, I feel weird to step into Sungei Wang Plaza for the first time in several year. I never like this place and this place always known with lack of good food choices. However, I have been forced by a friend to had a quick lunch with her at Equire Kitchen where she works nearby. I never like this restaurant because in my opinion they never had a lot of customers even in a crowded mall like Sungei Wang Plaza. My prediction was spot on and here it goes. Note: Nothing are good here so you will only be reading my critics only. Xiu Long Bao - In the menu is written that this is their signature dish which is using a super thin skin to wrap the pork. After the first bite, ewwww...the skin is so thick and I feel like eating flour or bread. The soup in it so little almost I do not realized there is a soup in it. Old Cucumber Pork Rib Soup - Few pork ribs but that does not matter. The worst part is the soup is too salty! Can't they just make a less salty food? Esquire T...

Kofuku Japanese Cuisine, Seri Pacific Hotel

Image
Am I considering myself lucky? Because I managed to date my high schoolmate, Yee Shyuan who is so hard to meet her up after her marriage. As you can see she already has a 3 years old son and that is how long we have not seen each other. I made a mistake by inviting her to this Japanese Restaurant called Kofuku Japanese Cuisine which is located inside the Seri Pacific Hotel. The mistake was I did not know that she is pregnant. It is not good to eat raw food and cold food for a pregnant woman especially a Japanese restaurant which has the most raw food and cold food among any other cuisines. So we did not order any raw food and therefore no sashimi in this post for review. Tobiko Sushi @RM30.00++ Outlook: 3/5 Creativity: 3/5 Taste: 4/5 Price: 0/5 Overall: 2/5 - This is her little son's favourite fish roe so we specially ordered for him. Pretty common fish roe sushi for me until I got the receipt and really surprised me. I think in Sushi Zanmai is just cost RM5.00++ for th...

Ristorante Porto Romano, Mont Kiara

Image
It is time for me to add some Italian cuisine in my blog so here I am at this famous Ristorante Porto Romano which has 3 branches opened around Klang Valley area. I am right now at Mont' Kiara branch which has a little difficult in finding a parking space. Seafood Soup @RM24.00++ Outlook: 3/5 Creativity: 4/5 Taste: 5/5 Price: 3/5 Overall: 3/5 - A tomato based soup is never my liking but starting from today I have changed my perspective on this. Thanks to Porto Romano. I thought it would be sourish to cover so many fishy seafood in it. To my surprise, not sourish and not fishy. Just pure delicious soup with fresh seafood. I finished every single drop of it. Aglio Olio Spaghetti Seafood @RM30.00++ Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 4/5 Taste: 5/5 Price: 3/5 Overall: 4/5 - Once again, I am not a fan of Aglio Olio because of some places especially Delicious , they will put too much olive oil which is making whole plate very oily. However, thanks to Porto Romano again, I sta...

Anyway, I will just shorten my ratings as usual for the following dim sum that we have ordered. The Smokehouse Hotel & Restaurant, Tanah Rata

Image
The most famous restaurant and also one of the most expensive restaurant is The Smokehouse Hotel & Restaurant. If you look onto the Google Map, you will find them occupying quite a big space at Cameron Highlands. Never regret for a photography session and a cup of tea with scones here. The only thing need to worry is your wallet because it is very expensive. This area is purposely designed just for the hotel and restaurant patrons to take their photos. If you are not, you only can take picture from the outside like this. Orchids are smiling in the climate like this. Chilling but just nice.
