Sky Coffee Shop, Baiyoke Sky Hotel

Baiyoke Sky Hotel is the place I stayed throughout my awesome holiday at Bangkok. Despite lack of lifts to support massive patrons and rigid 2.00pm check-in, I am still recommend this hotel to everyone because of their reasonable price, comfortable room, varieties of food and also is the tallest hotel in Thailand. The best of all the food is cheap in such a high class hotel! They have this fruit buffet which is only 180 baht/person!!! Lots of food choices for you to choose from and their fruits are so sweet! Guarantee!

Anyway, I should get back to the main meal first. One of the restaurant in the Baiyoke Sky Hotel is this Sky Coffee Shop which located at the same level with the reception at level 18. Yes, there is no typo here. Their reception is at level 18. We are always used with a hotel reception at the ground floor but in this hotel, it is slightly different. That is one of the reason why the lift is so congested.

Tom Kha Kai @120 baht++
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 4/5
Price: 4/5
Overall: 4/5 - If you are a person who loves milky stuff and do not like too spicy food, this chicken coconut tom yam soup is highly recommended. It is still has its own tomyam kick in it.

Tom Yam Goong @150 baht++
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 4/5
Price: 4/5 - If you are up for their spicy challenge, do try their spiciest tom yam seafood soup. It is spicy enough to numb you tongue and your whole mouth!!! But you will still love it!

Phad Thai Goong @ 110 baht++
Outlook: 5/5
Creativity: 5/5
Taste: 4/5
Price: 2/5
Overall: 4/5 - Pad thai is a fried rice noodle which is used to be a luxurious meal for the poor. Normally you can get around at least 30 baht for a simple egg Pad Thai at the hawker center. However the decoration and the taste, I do believe it is still worth its price.

Three Color Rice with Prawns @ 120 baht++
Outlook: 5/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 4/5
Price: 4/5
Overall: 4/5 - The rice is consist of brown rice, white rice and green rice but that is not the main deal. The main thing is the 3 big prawns with the price of RM12.00 (after conversion)??? Where to get in Malaysia??? Some more in a 5 star hotel? As for the taste, you will never regret ordering it.

Tiramisu @80 baht++
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 2/5
Price: 4/5
Overall: 3/5 - A simple tiramisu decorated beautifully like this which is totally worth the price. If the tiramisu is not so hard like eating a cheesecake, this tiramisu will be just perfect! Anyway, this is a more coffee taste tiramisu...I prefer the rum version.

Overall, I think this restaurant served a series a superb food with minimal price even though a little disappointing in the end with the dessert. The fruit buffet @180 baht is just next to this restaurant. It opens from 9.00am - 9.00pm (daily). Note: if you are note a hotel guest, the price is 350 baht/person

Total Damage: 810.05 baht
Ambiance: 4/5
Service: 4/5
Food Serving Speed: Slow
Recommended?: Absolutely!
