Burger & Lobster @Sky Avenue, Resorts World Genting

In 2011, the story began with 4 school friends in Moscow drinking wine on a roof-top. They came up with the idea to set up a restaurant where the focus was perfecting the craft of just one or two main ingredients. In a small Irish pub in Mayfair, the first Burger & Lobster was born. Ever since, Burger & Lobster has become one of the famous chain-restaurant in UK which they have 14 branches and one branch each at Dubai, New York, Stockholm, Kuwait and Jeddah. This year, we as Malaysian are very proud for being chosen as the first country in South East Asia by Burger & Lobster to make a debut branch at Genting Highlands Resorts. From the left of the picture, they are Khairul Azhar bin Wahid, Andrea Zorcolo and one of the founder, Riccardo La Monica. They are the masterminds behind this Malaysia branch.
As I have mentioned earlier, this restaurant is only specialized in burger and lobster. For your information, the burger is only beef burger. You will not find any other meat in their menu and it is really that simple enough to make such a long queue. It is that good to make people willing to line up and wait for it.
Seating at a 3,500 square feet restaurant will be a mix of dining banquettes and booths, with a focus on decorative lighting which was set to be very mellow. It is needed for the mood and ambiance as a border between club and fine dining. Burger & Lobster is ready to accept a maximum of 150-person capacity for a view of the new Twentieth Century Fox World theme park which is estimated to be opened by the near end of this year. Alfresco seating will be created by then to accommodate up to 170 diners.
The menu is simple but not in the kitchen. It is like a war in there to make sure every order is perfectly made. The master chef Khairul Azhar bin Wahid is making sure all the dishes are exactly the same taste and display before he gives a green light to the waiter/waitress to serve to their patrons. That's what I like about this restaurant. Other than that, this restaurant 100% hiring local waiter/waitress. I am not trying to be racist here but it is really important to give back the job opportunities to the locals and only the locals are capable to speak more than 2 languages which the patrons can understand and able to make a correct order for their desire food with minimal miscommunication.
Burger & Lobster specializes in premium lobsters from Nova Scotia, Canada, which are delivered weekly to the hilltop via Kuala Lumpur International Airport. Due to the volumes, the group buys on a weekly basis, they become very affordable and sale-able. 
They have a record of more than 4.0kg lobster before but as what you can see from the blackboard, the largest lobster as of that day was just one 3.7kg lobster which will cost RM1295 (member)/ RM1480 (non-member). If you have been always craving to have a giant lobster all by yourself, this is your chance. 
If you do not wish to spend that kind of money for a meal, please rest assured. There are affordable lobster meals for you. The lobster may not be that big but averagely will be weighted around 600 - 700 grams. It is really enough for one person's portion. Trust me.

Overall: 4/5 - How sinful to look at the irresistible piece of lobster meat laying gracefully on the beef patty. It is really seducing! The beef are made purely with 100% Australian beef, with no fillers. So make sure you have it medium rare so you are able to enjoy the freshness and the juiciness of the meat together with the tender lobster meat.The patties are served in a custom baked sesame seed brioche bun, and will be topped with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, in-house pickles and Burger & Lobster secret sauce. The whole combination was perfect and you will only get a perfect lobster and beef burger here. If you do not like lobster in your beef burger, they have two options for you which are called The Mayfair (168g beef) and The Original (224g beef).

Overall: 3/5 - There are two ways to prepare your desire lobster which are steamed and grilled. Personally, I prefer it to be steamed just to remain the freshness of the lobster meat since all the lobsters are still alive before being cooked. Their grilled option is not that bad either. They just grill enough to bring the grill taste in the lobster meat. You would be surprised how well is their grilling skill compare to any other restaurants. You can choose between a clarified butter sauce or B&L's famous lemon & garlic butter for your grilled lobster. With the sauce, the lobster meat will no longer dry after grilled.

Overall: 3/5 - Out of 20 branches they have, only in Malaysia, we will get to enjoy this dish. We are truly lucky. It is created to suit our local taste bud. It is not really that hot and spicy at all but it does give the a little spiciness kick to activate your appetite. When you think you might going to waste the leftover spicy gravy in the pot, the brioche is an excellent choice to wipe clean the whole gravy in the pot to eat.  What a sumptuous experience with the lobster!

Overall: 4/5 - The price is slightly high for a roll but once a while having such a delicious meal is worth it. The lobster meat is minced and served chilled in their signature toasted brioche roll. The magical part of this tasty meal is the little spiciness from the wasabi mayonnaise. It is divinely married all the ingredients together to make a perfect lobster roll which you could finish it up all by yourself. There are two other options for lobster roll which are The Chili and Seven Samurai which comes with seven different spices sauce.

Food preparation aside, customers can expect to be submerged in lobster paraphernalia. One whole wall of the restaurant will be decorated with 104 traditional lobster crates which are replicas of the ones used in Nova Scotia. For your information, they do serve a variety of interesting drinks and desserts as well.
In my honest opinion, it is already a well known fact that dining in Genting Highlands itself is expensive. A bottle of 500ml mineral water could cost more than RM5.00 here. Since you are going to spend a lot for your food during your holiday at Genting Highlands Resort, why would you want to settle yourself with an overpriced Nasi Lemak or Fried Rice when you can enjoy a luxurious meal at a reasonable price? That's my common sense. So do not hesitate and take your family to Burger & Lobster for an unforgettable experience. Cheers!
