Hon Kee Porridge @Petaling Street

The best porridge I had so far is at Hon Kee Porridge which is located at Petaling Street. This place is not really new to everyone anymore as their name has been made in the TV food shows too. They have 6 outlets selling their famous porridge. The others are in a shop and much more cleaner than this one which is in an attap stall. They have started their business since 1949 and originated from Petaling Street before spreading out to other branches. The great thing is even though they start to be commercialized but their quality is still tip-top!

Today, I have my girl to accompany for our morning breakfast.
The only shot i am able to take on the stall as they restricted us from taking photos of their stall. Maybe we might taken the photo of their secret recipe.
Their porridge, very smooth and delicious, Even a plain porridge like this can make me want to eat one more bowl. The choices of porridge available are Steamed Chicken Porridge, Raw Sliced Fish with Porridge, Century Egg Porridge, Pork Porridge and Pork Intestine with Porridge.

Overall: 3/5 - Despite the hefty price tag, the chicken is very smooth and delicious but kinda too much for one person to finish it especially I am there for breakfast only.

Overall: 4/5 - A very simple porridge which is very nice for your breakfast. Try not to compare the price with the normal hawker center selling porridge which cost only RM3.00 or RM3.50 for this porridge. You just got to pay the premium for their smooth and sweet porridge.

You Tiau - almost perfect stall when they really pay attention on almost all their food they served except this. Already stale early in the morning! In my opinion, these you tiau is overnight to me.
Total Damage: RM20.00
Ambianc: 2/5
Service: 3/5
Food Serving Speed: Fast
Will I Revisit?: Yes, another option for my breakfast apart of bread and dim sum.

Overall: 3/5 - It is also known as their signature Symphony of Starters, which takes you across the breadth of Indochinese cuisine with Vietnamese shrimp crystal rolls, lemongrass prawns, Cambodian-style deep-fried shrimp cakes and minced chicken on cinnamon sticks. All served with a variety of piquant sauces. The plate is just nice for 2 pax but the price is too expensive for that small portion.

This is a chicken tomyam clear soup with coconut meat in it. Very delicious and creative way to make it. The coconut meat is the highlight of the entire soup. It just gave the soup an extra coconut fragrance in it and of course, they are edible. Do not worry, the soup is not too spicy.

Overall: 4/5 - It contains of cashew meringue, Mascarpone cream, honey balsamic cream served with white chocolate dipped vanilla Magnum topped with freeze dried raspberries and fresh strawberries. My suggestion is to mix them all together including the ice cream itself otherwise by eating the ice cream alone will be too sweet. Once you mixed them all together, the magic comes. The sensational taste of creamy, crunchy, a little sourish kick and sweetness combining all together to create a wonderful ice cream dessert. Definitely is a must order dessert when you are there.
