PADI Open Water Diving Course @Krabi, Thailand

I have shared information of a local diving course to you in my previous post. So for now, let me bring you to oversea for a diving course. Not to worry it is not very far, it is our neighboring country - Thailand. The exact location will be at Ao Nang, Krabi. I hope everyone knows about this place. The course fee is just 12,500฿. As I have mentioned before in my previous post, you have an option to take an e-learning course at PADI official website which cost US$125. If you took the e-learning course, the diving course fee at Krabi will reduce to 10,500฿ only and the course duration will be reduced from 3 days to 2 1/2 days. Any additional days will be charged separately. The course is includes:
  • Instructor fee
  • Admin fee
  • PADI certification card
  • Boat transfer to their local islands or Phi-Phi Island
  • Equipments
  • Water, Coke, Sprite and lunch are provided

This is the dive center which provides the cheapest courses and diving trips at Krabi. Seek no more effort to look for another dive center. I have been ALL of them and I can guarantee this is the cheapest. It is operated by an English lady boss named Ms.Lana Attwood.
Pool Sessions: Some basic about swimming is required such as floating.
Pool Sessions: Now you will learn how to get in the water. There are plenty of 3 ways to get into the water and one of them is this which is called A Big Stride.
Pool Sessions: You will learn some basic skills and buoyancy control before you get into the sea.
Pool Sessions: "Good job! You did well!" Let's taste some sea water tomorrow!
DVD sessions for those who did not take the e-learning course
Off we go to our Ferry Boat.
Manta Point provides only Ferry Boat. Now you understand why they can provide the cheapest price compare to any other dive center ya? More DVD sessions inside the Ferry Boat.
Under the sea training begins with more skills and buoyancy control. Buoyancy will be different when you are in the pool and in the sea because you float better in the sea.
Good job! Certified diver going to be!
The "OK" sign. You will use a lot of this sign underwater.
So if to compare the cost you are going to spend locally at Mabul Island, Semporna and overseas at Ao Nang, Krabi is about the same. Flights to Tawau are more expensive than to Krabi and furthermore you need to stay overnight at the mainland before travel to the island in the next morning. However, the diving course price is much more cheaper. My recommendation will be taking the Mabul Island course because the sea are much prettier than Krabi. You can see my underwater picture which is a bit milky and blurry.

As for those who thinks diving is a dangerous and life risking activity, I will say you are very wrong. If you are fine with water and swimming, there is nothing more safer than with a tank behind your back. Give yourself a chance to dive because you will engage yourself in a whole new world with a brand new experience. You will see the world in different perspective which will mature your thinking. Try not to narrow your thinking with your own comfortable zone. Break it and you will find yourself with more spacious comfortable zone than ever.
