Sweetree, Ampang

Today, I will introduce to you a budget Korean Restaurant. The restaurant is called Sweetree and it is located at Ampang. If you are from Ampang, you should know there is a place where a lot of Koreans living here. Yup, it is the Korean Village. You can see all the shops will have Korean wordings on it. It is Groupon who brought me here with their deal and the link will be as below:

You have the choice of either Bul Go Gi (Beef marinated with fresh fruits + homemade Korean Soy Sauce + Rice) OR Dol Sot Bi Bim Bab Beef/Chicken (Korean rice topped with sauteed, seasoned vegetables + homemade sauce + beef/chicken slices + egg).

Welcome!!! So this is the restaurant. They really spent a lot of effort and money in decorating the restaurant. Check below pictures to understand more what I am trying to tell you.

They accept major credit cards and their working hours is from 9.00am - 1.00am

Just to advertise their Egg Sandwich is RM4.50++. They have decorated till this way. Very creative.

They have a lot of tiny models like this around the restaurant.

The restaurant has 2 levels. The above two pictures are at the ground floor while the bottom two pics are at their first level.

The friendly boss invited me to take more pictures of his restaurant. I believe he is very proud with his design.

These are his tiny little models. There are a lot of them and the amazing part is they are not dusty! Usually the hardest part for having these models is when to clean them. I believe the boss really took the effort to clean them everyday. Superb effort!

Alright! Let's get back to our main mission here! Hehe...this is the Dol Sot Bi Bim Bab (chicken). Dol Sot Bi Bim Bab is some sort like our chinese's Claypot Rice. The differences are they are using a stone bowl and their ingredients are usually vegetables more than the meat.

Overall: 3/5 - I hardly able to eat the chicken meat. They were just way way too tiny and not much of it.

Bul Go Gi - is like a beef teppanyaki in Korean style.

Overall: 2/5 - My girl says it tastes way better than the Dol Sot Bi Bim Bab but still is not up to her standard because she feels like just eating the beef and the plain white rice.

Drinks are not included in this deal so we have to purchase it separately. This is a very high recommendation by the boss and also by me which is their Ice-Blended Chocolate @RM7.90.

Overall: 4/5 - It is a must try drink. I hope the quality is consistent because usually the second time I drink always not as good as the first time. Anyone had this experience before?

So overall this restaurant is a good place to hangout with their delicious Ice Blended Chocolate. About their food, they are cheap but the quality is not there yet. Maybe we have not tried others yet. But if there is other food which is way better than what they are offering now, that means once again Groupon has disappointed me with their food offers. Wi-fi is available here but the parking space is very limited.
