Gong Cha @Marina Bay Sands

In Malaysia, we have popular bubble milk tea such as Chatime and Gong Cha, same goes to Singapore. The amazing part is the crowd is still the same. The line is still that long and of course they served the same popular drinks here.

Marina Bay Sands has to personally prepare a queue rope for this crowd.
The same top 10 best seller drinks like in Malaysia.
1) Same menu like Malaysia. Order our drinks first.
2) Select the sugar level based on our preference.
3) Wait for our number being called. Another wait. She beh tahan already. Hahaha
Earl Girl Milk Tea with 3Js @S$3.60
Outlook: 4/5

Taste: 4/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 4/5 - 3 types of different jelly in one milk tea. Creative indeed. It is a nice drink! Choose 50% sugar level because for 80% already quite sweet.

Matcha with Azuki Beans @S$3.90
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 5/5
Taste: 3/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 3/5 - Taste good as I always like a matcha drink. However, there are two types of beans which is kinda annoying when they stuck between my teeth. LOL

The unique about Gong Cha is their way of drinking them. There are 3 ways which are;

1) Milk Mouthstache - Without stirring, sip the tea from the top layer of milk foam to get a creamy, satisfying mouthful of the flavour of fresh milk accentuated by the more complex flavours of the tea.

2) Tea Off - Without stirring, sip the tea from the bottom with a straw to savour the complexity and freshness of the tea.

3) All In One - For the best of both worlds, stir both layers together and drink up!

So what about the franchise fee and package for Gong Cha at Singapore?

Rental - S$10k/mth
Staff salary - S$8k/mth (4 staffs)
Ingredients - S$10k/mth
Machines - S$10k -15k
Promotional Materials - S$5k
Franchise Royalty - S$30k (minimum)

Worth it? I believe it is worth as this bubble milk tea is hot right now. As I have seen a franchise is selling at 5000 cups per day. All need to achieve break even is 400 cups/day. So the balance 4500 cups are clean profit. As long as the quality does not arise any problem and a new recipe is produced every month. This business has the potential to last at least 3 years to 5 years.

Total Damage: S$7.50
Cleanliness: 4/5
Service: 3/5
Food Serving Speed: Slow
Will I Revisit?: I think I prefer Chatime.
