Image
Oh my, I just noticed that my exploration on Italian Cuisine is so little. Please forgive me, too many good food waiting for me everyday so I hope I will catch up what I lost along the way. Let's not delay any further and bring you to Santini Ristorante Italiano @Tropicana City Mall. I am still using my phone camera and I know it is abusing your eyes. So please bear a little while as my lens is back very soon! Maybe I should buy a backup lens next time. Hmm... My sister and the restaurant. Bad quality picture...so no choice but to play around using Picasa. Sorry, can't remember their Italian name but it is an Italian Thin Crust Pizza. Their signature. Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 4/5 Taste: 4/5 Overall: 4/5 - Very crispy and deliciously made. However, I just hate the greenie grass on top of it. Dory Spaghettini Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 4/5 Taste: 4/5 Overall: 4/5 - I like the spaghettini because it is so fine and easy to chew. However, the fish is so-s...

Restoran Gao Zhong, Kluang

Image
This is my first ever post on vegetarian food. I am not really introduce much vegetarian food is because most of the vegetarian food are not as healthy as you think. Or maybe I was disappointed by most of the vegetarian food that I have dine in along my food galore expedition. Well, this is the vegetarian restaurant which I have dined since I was small. After 10 years, let's see if there is any improvement. By the way, the restaurant name is Restoran Gao Zhong. Just opposite the Chung Hwa High School. Taufu Minced Meat Outlook: 3/5 Creativity: 4/5 Taste: 4/5 Overall: 3/5 - This is the best dish that I have on that afternoon. The taufu is very soft and delicious.  Normal vegetable which I do not think a detailed rating is required.  Layered Pork with Mushroom Outlook: 3/5 Creativity: 4/5 Taste: 2/5 Overall: 3/5 - Look at the shiny shining on this dish. That is the unhealthy part. Too much oil!!! Curry Fish Head Outlook: 3/5 Creativity: 4/5 Taste: ...

Wan Tan Mee @Jalan Sungai Besi

Image
My hawker adventure continues and this time is Wan Tan Mee which is located along the busy road of Jalan Sungai Besi. My sister brought me here at 12am!!! Yes, midnight! They are open from around 7.00pm till 2.00am or 3.00am depends to the crowd. Once again their seats are full! This makes me more excited!  Char Siew Wan Tan Mee (Small) @RM4.50 Outlook: 3/5 Creativity: 3/5 Taste: 3/5 Price: 2/5 Overall: 2/5 -  Sorry my sister and I agree with you.  Honestly, it is just another normal plate of wan tan mee.  I do not really quite understand the reason for the crowd here but I really do not taste anything great from this wan tan mee. Even our Indian citizen has made their points here. I am seriously surprised! I understand more later that they have other foods which are their selling point such as Yong Tau Foo, braised pork knuckles, chicken leg and many more (cannot remember that much). In my opinion, if you can't even get your signature dish rig...

Char Siew Rice @Ka Ka Loi Makanan Nasi Ayam

Image
I told my girl and my sister that today onward I will try to blog more on hawker foods. The reason is they said the food that I blog so far is nice to see but too expensive to eat. So to suit my supporters need, here I start with a simple char siew rice. The restaurant name is called Ka Ka Loi (cantonese) which means "come everybody". The restaurant is located beside Jalan Peel. It is quite easy to be located because a lot of cars parking by the road side. Rice made from pork oil to cook to increase the fragrance. Char Siew - RM13.00 Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 4/5 Taste: 4/5 Price: 4/5 Overall: 4/5 - This is their must order dish. The picture above is suitable for 3 person to dine. As you can see from the picture, there is 50% of the char siew are fatty meat. If you like the fatty meat, you can always request for more fatty meat. For me, I rather choose without any fat due to health concern. The reason for this char siew to be so nice is not just because they ar...

Nijyumaru Japanese Restaurant, Johor Bahru

Image
This will be my first post about Johor Bahru after being as a Johorian for at least 20 years. Oh my...not because May Lynne was assigned to Johor for her auditing job here, I wouldn't have any post about Johor forever. Since she was around, I made my own research through the web on the best Japanese cuisine at Johor. So in the end I came to this restaurant called Nijyumaru Japanese Restaurant which is quite popular rated on the web and locals around. Found a good restaurant supposed to be excited but if you remembered my post at Bread & Butter , my camera lens is still in the workshop. I have no choice but to use my iPhone 4 for all my pictures in this post. Please kindly bear with it. However, I can guarantee you that these foods look way better than my pictures. Getsu Mori @RM68.00++ Outlook: 3/5 Creativity: 4/5 Taste: 4/5 Price: 4/5 Overall: 3/5 - 10 different types of sushi in a plate but there are two flaws which is very critical to me. First, look a...

Image
Hunan is a province of South-Central China, located to the south of the middle reaches of the the Yangtze River and south of Lake Dongting. Hence, the Hunan means "south of the lake". Many immigrants from China to Malaysia not just for bringing labor strength into our society but also their food from China to Malaysia. So the restaurant that I about to introduce to you in this post is a lady boss from Hunan, China bringing her own local Hunan delicacies into Malaysia and opened a restaurant at Fraser Business Park called Restaurant Xiang Man Qing. It is a short introduce for your knowledge of their existence purpose.  Looks familiar to you? Yes, another restaurant that I blog  previously  also the same way of cleaning their chopsticks and bowl. It is stated is eco-friendly. I wonder how eco-friendly when so much plastic is produced for this. Nicely decorated restaurant. Because they offer BBQ like Korean restaurant so the air-con in the restaurant unabl...

Korean Stone BBQ Steamboat, Ampang

Image
My buffet marathon in my latest visit to KL has gone from crazy to absolutely madness! If you follow my blog closely, I have been to 2 Japanese Buffet, 1 Chinese Dim Sum Buffet and now a so called Korean style buffet. This place is called Korean Stone BBQ Steamboat which located along Jalan Ampang. This road is very jam during dinner hours. If you came from far, this is not a place you wish to dine. You will be torturing yourself when seeing yourself stuck in the long traffic jam. Everyday voucher brought me here with thier link as follow: 50% off BBQ Buffet for dinner on weekdays only. Let's begin by picking up our raw food. More raw foods Noodles! Drinks are not included in their buffet package. Charge separately @RM1.00 per pax but it is bottomless. Kinda stupid to me because I do not understand why don't they just add inside the buffer package cost. Oh ya...btw, their buffet is cost RM27.80 per pax. Some cooked rice, noodles, porridge and shark fins...

Kikyo Japanese Restaurant, Bandar Puteri Puchong

Image
Since Elayne jie treated me a nice ala-carte Japanese buffet restaurant at Umai-Ya  on my birthday. This time is my turn to return her kindness by bringing her to another ala-carte Japanese buffet on her birthday which is called Kikyo Japanese Restaurant. They only serve buffet dinner on weekdays and buffet lunch on weekends and public holidays. This is a real good news since most of the ala-carte Japanese buffet only served on weekends. Of course, another exclusion is the Munakata Japanese Restaurant which is expensive and their menu is not that great at all. Kikyo Japanese Restaurant has already opened quite a few years and they started with their ala-carte buffet for only RM29.90++ per person. Now, they just increased in the month of November to RM39.90++. Even though they have increase as much as RM10 per pax, their buffet price is still one of the cheapest. They provide refillable Green Tea and Coke too! However, drinking a carbonated drink for a buffet is never a go...
