Sepilok OrangUtan Rehabilitation Centre, Sandakan

Entertainment in Sandakan is really limited where one of them which I have already blogged earlier about the bowling center and another one is the pretty "run down" cinema. They do not have mall here yet. But there is an upcoming Harbour Square which is almost finished developing and located at the heart of the town. Do not have high expectation on the mall just yet.

Less entertainment but the nature adventure is just superb over here. The most famous thing to do here at Sandakan will be no other than visiting Sepilok. Sepilok is an Orang Utan Rehabilitation Center which is a norm for any tourist to visit and do whenever they travel to Sandakan.

Here we are at Sepilok! NOTE: FYI, that is not Orang Utan. Somehow a normal person who is trying to act like one. LOL
Actually I did not enter this place so I was there just visiting from the outside. The real reason is not because I saw this sign which showing that there is a medium risk of fire that is going to happen in this forest. Actually is because I am not a big fan of Orang Utan. Unless, I am here with my kids...I do not mind this as their lesson to increase their animal knowledge.

You can choose to help them by adopting them for only RM180. Of course, you cannot bring them home.
A little friendly reminder.
This is their program in 5 simple steps.
Caring them which is to feed them the necessary nutrition for them to grow up healthily.
Basic survival training for them to survive in the jungle.
Getting along with their own species is also a necessary step.
Once they are well equipped with the necessary techniques, they are allowed to roam freely in the tropical forest.
Even though, they are able to roam freely, they are still under monitoring to observe their routine lifestyle and health.
Is this cute to you? If yes, you should come over to Sepilok.
