Tomoe Japanese Restaurant, Subang Jaya

Tomoe Japanese Restaurant has been around for quite sometime and everyone is giving them a good credit ever since then. This restaurant is managed by a genuine Japanese chef and he is presenting their finest skill and food quality from Japan to Malaysia. I always like a foreign restaurant that is managed by the foreigners. Somehow you know this is taste about the same back at their own country.
Dobin Mushi @RM26.50++
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 3/5
Taste: 3/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 3/5 - Somehow this Dobin Mushi is way different than the one that I used to have. Maybe it is because the lime that they squeezed in it. I hardly able to taste the clear soup with seafood freshness in it. It is all covered by the sourish lime taste. I unable to accept it at first but after a few cups, I began to understand that this soup needs a longer time to adapt with the taste. However, I still prefer the original soup that I used to have.

Omakase Sashimi @RM127.20++
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 5/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 4/5 - 9 kinds of different fishes with one slice each. This is a special plate made just for one person only. All the fishes here are the premium ones such as otoro, uni, chutoro and other exotic fishes. It is very worth it and delicious. You will definitely be whining and disgruntled over one piece for each kind. No wonder Tomoe is famous for their Sashimi. It is absolutely well deserved for their name to be this famous.

Gindara Shio Teriyaki @RM47.70++
Outlook: 3/5
Creativity: 3/5
Taste: 4/5
Price: 2/5
Overall: 3/5 - As always I believe a cod fish with teriyaki sauce is one of the must order dish in a Japanese restaurant. However, the price is slightly too expensive for such a small piece of meat. Not worth to order.

Inaniwa Udon @RM23.32++
Outlook: 3/5
Creativity: 3/5
Taste: 2/5
Price: 2/5
Overall: 2/5 - The soba sauce is a little too salty for my taste and the udon is still sticking together which is not very well made.

Goma Ice Cream @RM10.60++ - Their homemade black sesame ice cream is superbly smooth and scrumptious. The strong sesame taste spread over your mouth in every single bite you scoop. The best dessert to have after your sashimi.
Overall, I am a little disappointed with this well known Japanese restaurant that has been in everyone's lips. The reason is apart of their sashimi, there are absolutely nothing for me to impress about. Nevertheless, their sashimi is truly exceptional and I will definitely be back just for it.
Total Damage: RM271.20 (2 pax)
Ambiance: 4/5
Service: 4/5
Food Serving Speed: Moderate
Will I Revisit?: Only for the sashimi
