Xiang Xiang Pan Mee, Sandakan

It has been a long time I am not blogging but luckily not over a month yet. Sorry for the long break but it was a necessary one. I have been to Sandakan for 5 Days 4 Nights. My main purpose is to venture my business to that area and secondary objective is always about food and the local entertainment there. I believe I have completed my exploration at Sandakan in this journey.

Landed at night and had the first food with bad experience at Xiang Xiang Pan Mee. I chosen this restaurant because it is pretty fancy for me with their decorations and LCD TVs in the restaurant in Sandakan! Pretty amazing!

Overall: 1/5 - Look at the picture. You only see the mee. No egg and hardly pork meat to be seen. Pretty pathetic. The mee is salty but the worst part is the saltiness is not scatter evenly throughout the teppan.

Overall: 2/5 - Taste like an overnight dumplings.

 Really a bad idea to choose a fancy restaurant in a place like Sandakan for food. Furthermore, they do let people smoke inside this fancy restaurant too! That's really ridiculous. They should place them outside the restaurant to sit and smoke! Well, it is a lesson for me to let me know that to avoid fancy restaurant at all caused.

What will people think first when we talk about Penang? Penang Hill? Batu Feringghi? Hard Rock Cafe? I doubt any of them come first but their local food! Penang famous with their local foods and that is the reason there are a lot of hawker center at Penang. One of them is at Jalan MacAlister. No name for this hawker center but the local good foods are concentrated here. A lot of hawker stall like this here. There are just too many to choose from. I may have introduced a "shocking"  Kampachi , Japanese Cuisine for you all. So this time I will lower a bit the level of the Japanese Cuisine but the quality is still that good. The Japanese Restaurant is called Rakuzen. This restaurant is the sister company with  Hokkaido Ichiba ,  Kura Japanese Restaurant ,  Zen ,  Sushi Zanmai  and  Pasta Zanmai  which means they are from the same boss. The difference is Rakuzen consider a high end Japanese Restaurant among all of them and follow by  Kura ,  Hokkaido Ichiba ,  Zen  and  Sushi Zanmai  while  Pasta Zanmai  is under different category. Driving a go cart like a F1 driver before? I always dream about this and doing it together with my  sister  who is lack of adventurous gene in her. So lately Dealmates  is offering a great deal to experience such feel in a F1 circuit alike! Bungee Jump @Sunway Lagoon

Bungee jump...anyone? Haha...when people hear the word "bungee jump", usually you will get an immediate response "NO WAY". Seriously, if you are a person who likes to play roller coaster or the solero shot @ Genting , this bungee jump is absolutely nothing because the panic moment is just lasted for 3-5 seconds on the jumping board. Once you jumped, you already have nothing to fear because you already find yourself above the water in a moment. So the "excitement" is way way faster than a roller coaster or the solero shot.  There were once we have 2 bungee jump spots in Malaysia. One at KL Tower and another one at Sunway Lagoon which is organized by AJ Hackett Company . Around year 2009, AJ Hackett has pulled out from KL Tower spot due to certain issue. This will be my last post for my Sandakan trip. I hope you enjoy it and I know some of you have started yelling at me to show some Klang Valley post instead. Well, you are going to have it tomorrow. As for now, let me do a finale for my trip at Sandakan with another local signature dish which they are popular with their fish ball, fish paste and almost everything is about fish. The place is called Kedai Makan Kong Teck.  The pot which is ready to make some great noodles! 虾腐 - It is a prawn paste 鱼腐 - This is the fish paste 鱼卷 - Fish roll 鱼交 - Fish wantan (top) and  鱼滑 - Fish Dumplings (bottom) Basically how you order is to pick any of those above toppings on your favorite noodle available here. Kedai Kopi Lotus, Kota Kinabalu

Kota Kinabalu doesn't have huge hawker center like you will see in Peninsular Malaysia or Kuching but I have to reckon that the best hawker center in Kota Kinabalu is in Kedai Kopi Lotus. Kedai Kopi Lotus themselves do serve their own food which was very terrible and beyond edible state. So do not eat anything from this restaurant. You just pick the stalls beside this restaurant. There are 4 stalls which I will introduce one by one to you but the only stall which will not be introduced is the stall which is selling Guo Tie ( a kind of dumplings) -  not my favorite. The best and the most popular stall of all is this chicken wing stall. Everyone is there lining up for them either taking away or dining there. You may need to wait for 15-20 minutes for it. My buffet marathon in my latest visit to KL has gone from crazy to absolutely madness! If you follow my blog closely, I have been to 2 Japanese Buffet, 1 Chinese Dim Sum Buffet and now a so called Korean style buffet. This place is called Korean Stone BBQ Steamboat which located along Jalan Ampang. This road is very jam during dinner hours. If you came from far, this is not a place you wish to dine. You will be torturing yourself when seeing yourself stuck in the long traffic jam. Everyday voucher brought me here with thier link as follow: 50% off BBQ Buffet for dinner on weekdays only. Let's begin by picking up our raw food. More raw foods Noodles! Drinks are not included in their buffet package. Charge separately @RM1.00 per pax but it is bottomless.
