Sweets Tick Beans, Sandakan

Today I will share another quite special and unique dessert which is available in Sandakan only (as far as I know). This dessert is available at Sweets Tick Beans. While the special dessert is called Lai Lou Fa or in direct translation into English is known as "Old Milk Flower". Yeah...it did sound weird but never mind, the most important is the dessert itself.

Not very fancy type of dessert shop is always have a better quality inside. Can you see this one normal 22" shop has been divided into three?
Yes, it turns out to be this small. Actually, they do provide a "mini van stall" service where it goes from door to door.

I used to whine that Japanese cuisine in Johor Bahru is horrifying and disappointing until I meet Warakuya Japanese Garden at Mount Austin. From the exterior itself, this restaurant looks so grand and luxury. The first thing comes to my mind is the price will be hefty. However, when I saw the queue in front of the restaurant, I already doubt their price is going to be really expensive. I know people just loves good food but at the minimum price. Who doesn't anyway? One of the best part of the restaurant is they are providing 42" LCD TV, free flow of drinks and seating area for the queue. Never know about this place until I watched Ah Xian from the TV Programme which is known as "Taste with Jason". This restaurant is known as Chong Siew Lam Restaurant. No signboard to show this place but this is the only the crowded place in the whole street. Dim sum is always everyone's favourite even to our Muslim friends but finding a Halal and delicious dimsum is not that easy at all. After I have dined in Restoran Minmax, I know this is the best ever Halal dimsum that's available in Malaysia currently. Once again, it is my date with my god daughter with her family. I have chosen Le Pont Boulangerie because the restaurant is big and spacious for these two little cuties to run about. This is their second branch in Klang Valley area. Their first branch is at Old Klang Road. On the ground floor, they have a selection of bread and pastries. You can order some desserts here to dine in too.  At the first floor, it is solely for their diners. They have a hanging bridge look alike in the middle of the restaurant. Le Pont means "The Bridge" in French. So this bridge is their icon. As I have mentioned earlier, their space is spacious and the design is exquisite too. My son can't sit at all when he was here. After my disappointing experience at Torii , I have to hunt for a better restaurant to maintain Japanese cuisine as my most favourite cuisine. So I come across with Uroko Japanese Cuisine which located above Soleil restaurant at Section 17, Petaling Jaya. There is lift provided to get you to their floor. The design inside the restaurant is simple and not too spacious. However, the lighting is dim which somehow to give you a sense of privacy. Uroko does provide Omakase which starts from RM150++/pax and the most expensive is just only RM350++/pax. It is quite affordable in my opinion. Where to see such a view at KL while enjoying your red wine? Here we are at Luna Bar which is located at the level 34 of the Pacific Regency Hotel Suite. By occupying the roof top of the hotel, you are able to see this great view. Along with me is Suyin, the DJ wannabe that I talked about previously and now we are here enjoying our beautiful Sunday night drinking red wine and feel the breeze. Really is an amazing experience! They have a DJ playing R&B songs and sitting right in the tower which is located at the top right of this picture. By the way, no dance floor provided. If you really feel like dancing, maybe you can dance at your own table. You can choose to sit by the pool side or by the window. Trust me, if you wish to sit by the window, you better book earlier to avoid disappointment. This is the window view which you can enjoy the KL night live scene. So I took a ride of the River Taxi to another tourist spot which is known as Boat Quay. The above picture shows just the size of the Boat Quay.  The most happening street is this street where all the stalls and vintage shop houses are built.  One of most happening location will be this pub, The Penny Black. Over here just too many pubs and restaurants so there is one restaurant have this large turtle to attract tourists. Seems like this kid is more attracted with a live one. Oh my god, his tummy...I feel like want to play with it. Hahaha... This is what the kid was looking at. Amazing huge crab!!! But this is not the largest. Yes, the largest is the Alaskan Crab. It cost S$19.00/100g. This one already easily weight 3 kg. So you do the calculation. Well, there are cheaper options available for crab lovers. Lobsters!!! So huge! Long Beach, Pulau Perhentian Kecil

After staying so many days at the calm and relaxing Pulau Perhentian Besar , I am started to feel kind of bored. I wanted to feel the nightlife on an island so I was advised to head to the Pulau Perhentian Kecil. There are two beaches here which are Long Beach and Coral Bay. Right now I am heading to Long Beach by a water taxi which cost me RM25/pax. The first impression I had when put my first step on this beach my feeling is WOW! Truly different concept! This beach is so much happening. You can rent this big umbrella for your sunbathing. This is something you don't see at Pulau Perhentian Besar definitely! Now, you need to understand where you are.  Lots of cafe and restaurants here for you to pick! You will be spoiled with the choices you have here. There are snorkeling gear for you to rent at RM5 - RM10 depending to the season. But the problem is too many boats along this beach, it is very dangerous for you to snorkel here.
