Quan Ice Cream & Coffee House, Pandan Indah

If you ask me a nice place to chillout around Ampang and Cheras area, one of the best I think is Quan Ice Cream & Coffee House. This place so big by occupying two stories and two units of shop lot. The ambiance is cozy and their lighting setup is designed pretty well not so dark until you can't even know what food you are eating and not so bright until you feel you lost your own privacy.

Some decoration like this you may see around the shop. I guess the boss is quite a collector. However, I do not really like an advertisement encourage smoking especially lady.
Other vintage design on the wall and their seats are made from rattan. Not really for comfort purpose but to provide the vintage feel instead.
Do visit here for their drinks and coffees which is what they are good at.

Overall: 3/5 - Their another specialty is the ice creams. A lot of unique and creative choices for you to choose on. Their ice-cream is by Cremo. Cremo is not a bad ice-cream brand. However, I still prefer to have my ice cream experience at Baskin Robbins or Haagen Dazs.

Overall: 3/5 - Very unique combination. Quite nice but not something that you will reorder when every time you visit here if you get what I mean.

You will not going to miss this place because it is the brightest shop at night along the dark street.
Chillout, gathering, parties and surfing the net in this restaurant is always a pleasure to do. Parking is ample and the internet are not unifi yet so please bear with the speed when this place is started to get crowded.

I have been here for several times and tried their food. The best is the Cantonese River Prawn Mee. Please do not get me wrong. When I said best does not mean it is very delicious ya? Because all their foods serve here are at the average standard. However, the only food that is slightly above average is Cantonese River Prawn Mee.

Overall: 4/5 - It contains of cashew meringue, Mascarpone cream, honey balsamic cream served with white chocolate dipped vanilla Magnum topped with freeze dried raspberries and fresh strawberries. My suggestion is to mix them all together including the ice cream itself otherwise by eating the ice cream alone will be too sweet. Once you mixed them all together, the magic comes. The sensational taste of creamy, crunchy, a little sourish kick and sweetness combining all together to create a wonderful ice cream dessert. Definitely is a must order dessert when you are there.

Overall: 3/5 - It is also known as their signature Symphony of Starters, which takes you across the breadth of Indochinese cuisine with Vietnamese shrimp crystal rolls, lemongrass prawns, Cambodian-style deep-fried shrimp cakes and minced chicken on cinnamon sticks. All served with a variety of piquant sauces. The plate is just nice for 2 pax but the price is too expensive for that small portion.

Outlook: 3/5 Creativity: 5/5 Taste: 4/5 Price: 3/5 Overall: 3/5 - If you think that coconut soup should be a milky soup, then you are wrong. This is a chicken tomyam clear soup with coconut meat in it. Very delicious and creative way to make it. The coconut meat is the highlight of the entire soup. It just gave the soup an extra coconut fragrance in it and of course, they are edible. Do not worry, the soup is not too spicy.
