Restoran Chan Meng Kee, SS2

I used to think Ming Kee Char Siew has the best BBQ pork. I admitted I am wrong after I understand the meaning of best BBQ pork here at Restoran Chan Meng Kee which is located at SS2...the place known with great food.
The boss is hidden every early morning at the back of the shop to observe thoroughly of his BBQ pork and roasted pork before sending them here to be chopped and served to the guests.
Nicely made and only ready at 9.30am while his restaurants already started at 8.30am.

Overall: 3/5 - The wantan noodle is very delicious. Unlike any other normal wantan noodle hawker stall. What I heard is the boss did a lot of research in how to make the noodle delicious. He make sure the wantan noodle is well made and he will only buy from one supplier who freshly made for him everyday.

Pork dumplings were good as well but nothing special to describe about them.

Overall: 4/5 - The BBQ pork almost can melt in your mouth slowly. The honey juice slowly flowing out from the meat was a great experience. Not oily to make you feel queasy and not over-barbecued to have the bitter taste spoiling your taste bud. I will say it is perfect. If they served me for a 5 pax portion, I can easily finished them off! As for the roasted pork, you can choose whether you want a no fat pork, a little fat pork or fatty pork. From what you can see from the picture is a little fat pork. People said that if totally no fat, you don't considered it as a roasted pork. I like this roasted pork because it is not salty at all like I normally had. The little fat is juicy and not queasy.

At 10.00am on weekdays, they are already full like this. Can you imagine if is on weekend? Come early and you will not regret.

Overall: 3/5 - It is also known as their signature Symphony of Starters, which takes you across the breadth of Indochinese cuisine with Vietnamese shrimp crystal rolls, lemongrass prawns, Cambodian-style deep-fried shrimp cakes and minced chicken on cinnamon sticks. All served with a variety of piquant sauces. The plate is just nice for 2 pax but the price is too expensive for that small portion.

This is a chicken tomyam clear soup with coconut meat in it. Very delicious and creative way to make it. The coconut meat is the highlight of the entire soup. It just gave the soup an extra coconut fragrance in it and of course, they are edible. Do not worry, the soup is not too spicy.

Overall: 4/5 - It contains of cashew meringue, Mascarpone cream, honey balsamic cream served with white chocolate dipped vanilla Magnum topped with freeze dried raspberries and fresh strawberries. My suggestion is to mix them all together including the ice cream itself otherwise by eating the ice cream alone will be too sweet. Once you mixed them all together, the magic comes. The sensational taste of creamy, crunchy, a little sourish kick and sweetness combining all together to create a wonderful ice cream dessert. Definitely is a must order dessert when you are there.
