Teluk Sengat Crocodile Farm, Ayer Tawar

The first time we are bringing our new member in our family for a family day trip is to Teluk Sengat Crocodile Farm. The farm is located 1 hour away from Johor Bahru and 30 minutes away from Desaru. The price of the ticket is RM8 (adult) and RM6 (child). For kids below 4 years old is free.
They built a path with shed with the crocodile cage on the either side. There is a wooden platform for us to step on it to look at the crocodile.
Too bad the platform is good for adult but not the kids. The kids will need the adults to carry them.
There is a large lake where all the crocodiles can roam freely at this area. I cannot imagine myself if I fell into this place. I believe there are hundreds of crocodiles with various of sizes waiting for me. Actually this place is for the female crocodiles to find a nest to lay their eyes.
They separate the crocodiles by their ages.
I didn't see any baby crocodiles but this is the smallest that I have seen in the farm which is 20+ years old. 20 years old still this small? Then what is the age of a large crocodile which we often see on the television then?
Yes, you can do the math. They should be more than 100 years old. For the age more than 155 years old, they will separate them in their own respective cell.
If you have checked online, this reptile lifespan is averagely at 70 years old. So how on earth they have more than 155 years old crocodiles in their farm? That's twice the average lifespan?
This is the weird part which I do not get someone to explain to me. There is no guide that will take you around the farm and explain to you unless you come in a big tour group.
Normally a crocodile can weigh up to 1000kg and 7 meters long. As you can see, the breeder was provoking the crocodile to demonstrate to the visitors on how powerful is the crocodile. You can see more from the video below.

In case you are wondering why the crocodiles always keep their mouth open. I used to thought that to attract the prey to walk into their mouth. Seems like I had it wrong all these while. LOL
Crocodiles can't really live together well. Sometimes, they will fight which will ended up dead or seriously injured. So for those injured crocodiles, they will be placed in a sanctuary like this separately from the others. As you can see this crocodile has already lost almost half of its body but it is still alive. Never heard about crocodile can regenerate its own tail.
My son is always enjoying his time going out from home no matter where we go. So he likes the crocodile farm and he is enjoying it.
There is a small spot where they decorated for the visitors to become instagramable.
This is the cafeteria where you can order a crocodile soup and crocodile satay meat.
The crocodile soup cost us RM30/bowl. The meat inside the soup can't be eaten because it smells so badly but surprisingly the soup is not as smelly as the meet. It is because the amount of goji has been put inside the soup to eliminate the smell. The soup is just full of goji taste. Not really tasty at all.
This is the crocodile satay where they are selling is for RM16 for just 4 sticks. It is really expensive but the taste is really delicious. It does taste like chicken and even better than chicken.
I had to order again as my son wants more of it. Look at the picture above you will know how much he is enjoying it.
Overall, it was a great family hangout even though it is very far from Kluang for us. Outside the farm, you can experience holding the baby crocodile and taking picture with it for RM20/pax. For your information, you can even buy their crocodile egg too at RM10/egg. The egg is big but it does not taste like chicken egg. It taste more awful than chicken egg. Nonetheless, it is a great place to visit if you are passing by or leaving nearby here. Definitely not worth it if you are coming from far away. As you can finished the tour within an hour.
