Song Hin Pork Porridge, Kuching

It is not that I love criticising other people's food but sometimes they just forced me to. Do NOT dine in Song Hin Pork Porridge at the Open Market Kuching which is located at the intersection of Jalan Market and Jalan Power. To be safe, just don't dine in any restaurants there. They have a serious hygiene issue. You can see big fat rats and cockcroaches running around freely there. It was so disgusting!
They are selling their porridges start from RM3.50. The taste is more like rice in a soup definitely is not the type of porridges which we cook for long hours. 
This is the century egg which spoiled my entire Kuching trip. I was hospitalized for 3 days for food poisoning. It was a very terrible experience. My last food poisoning was 10 years ago and I have been very careful since then but somehow I got cheated by the TV program hosted by Axian for introducing their viewers like me to dine here. Lesson learned is do not trust 100% of those TV program which introduces places with good food. Just trust them 50% and the rest of the 50%, judge yourself when you reach there. The government there must do something about the pest which is crawling around the market. I can't believe they play ignorant about it.

Not really much entertainment in Sandakan even though they are just beside the sea. No nice beach for water activities and the nearest island like Pulau Selingan and Turtle Island are about 90 minutes away. As for the town itself, basically is this bowling centre called Champ's which has a very nice and good condition bowling alley, bowling shoes and bowling bowls if to compare with bowling centres like in KL.  Not very big at all for their bowling centre which only has 12 lanes. Have you ever stay in a Durian Farm before? No? At Bao Sheng Durian Farm, you can do it! This 6.7 acres durian farm has been established in Balik Pulau since 1959. It really took them full 60 years to get the fruit of their hard work. Their villa is well equipped with air-con, hot shower and LCD TV with hundreds of Blu-Ray quality movies in it! Many people asked me what is there in Kunming, honestly, I will say nothing. It is just a city with a dirty lake called Dianchi Lake. The locals love there though but you really do not wish to waste your flight ticket, accommodation and time for that. Trust me. The best part of Kunming is located 82km away which is a town named Shilin.  Kunming Stone Forest, Shilin in Chinese, is a spectacular set of limestone groups and the representative of south China’s karst landscape. Known since the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) as the 'First Wonder of the World', it is one of the most important attractions of Yunnan. The Cang Mountains (Cangshan) are a mountain range west of Dali City. Their snow-capped peaks, flowing clouds, murmuring brooks, diverse flora, and historical temples make them one of the most famous attractions in Dali. It is a great place to enjoy a bird's eye view of Erhai Lake and Dali Ancient Town. Cable car and hiking are both great ways to enjoy the scenery of the mountains. However, you have to know there are three cableways in the mountains: Ximatan Cableway, Zhonghe Cableway, and Gantong Cableway. I just know after I know my tour package is going to Zhonghe Cableway. Hey Kluang people, do you know Melaka's famous Ais Kacang at Jonker Street has come to Kluang? I am really excited to see this small hut with only 10 seats inside are selling the famous ais kacang. Suddenly I am so proud of Kluang to have someone to choose this place to open a branch here. This is a branch from Melaka's Jonker Dessert. So please do expect an authentic Melaka recipe which supposed to be 152km away from us. Apart of selling the ais kacang. They do sell food for lunch too. You really cannot survive in Kluang if just selling Ais Kacang only.  Start off with making a beautiful round shape shaved ice. Pour evenly the specially homemade milk on the ice. Born in JB but has superbly little knowledge about JB especially about their food is really bothering me when every time I travel to this place. Luckily, this time I have Ms. Ting with me to take us to this very unique restaurant which is called Kedai Makanan Sin Kimdo. This is a BBQ and Seafood restaurant. They are selling BBQ food which are made in skewered stick. Here are the series of choices for you to choose on. There are a lot of choices but not all written with prices. So you are advised to ask the waiter or waitress for the exact price before ordering.  You just pick the food you want to eat in a plate and they will do the BBQ for you. They have two BBQ station with thousands of skewers to BBQ everyday. Look at the basin at the side. I wonder if it is hygiene. This is the BBQ chicken. A small town like Kluang, being stand out is really important especially when in a food and beverage business. However, it is totally a different case for The Base Tea Bar. As you can see from the picture above, they are located at an alley behind a row of shops which the road is the dead end. I can't describe detail enough how secluded it is. You have to witness it by yourself. The parking here is extremely limited but you will have a plenty of parking space on Friday and Saturday where the open parking space which is reserved to Wisma Bunga will be opened to public. The interior design is more into 90s. The rattan chairs and tables are pretty limited and low. It is not convenient for dining unless you are here for their tea only. There is a staircase to lead to the first floor but they have no plan to expand yet despite limited seating available. In Kota Kinabalu, you will find noodles from different part of town such as Tuaran Mee , Beaufort Mee and now what I am going to introduce to you is the another town's local mee which is known as Tenom Mee. I think I do not have to mention where it is originated. I find that people in KK are really pampered with all kinds of noodle serving to them. This is Tenom noodle which is slightly disappointing because after our experience with the Beaufort noodle , we brought a pretty high expectation this will be somehow better or at least the same like it. However, to us, it is just another noodle like the wantan mee. Wantan mee taste way better thou. There is the possibility this restaurant doesn't serve the real Tenom noodle or the Tenom noodle is actually looks like this. Well, I only can find out if I make a visit to Tenom.
