Teluk Sengat Crocodile Farm, Ayer Tawar

Image
The first time we are bringing our new member in our family for a family day trip is to Teluk Sengat Crocodile Farm. The farm is located 1 hour away from Johor Bahru and 30 minutes away from Desaru. The price of the ticket is RM8 (adult) and RM6 (child). For kids below 4 years old is free.  They built a path with shed with the crocodile cage on the either side. There is a wooden platform for us to step on it to look at the crocodile.  Too bad the platform is good for adult but not the kids. The kids will need the adults to carry them. There is a large lake where all the crocodiles can roam freely at this area. I cannot imagine myself if I fell into this place. I believe there are hundreds of crocodiles with various of sizes waiting for me. Actually this place is for the female crocodiles to find a nest to lay their eyes. They separate the crocodiles by their ages.  I didn't see any baby crocodiles but this is the smallest that I have seen in the fa...

Hiking and Camping at the peak of Gunung Datuk, Kota, Negeri Sembilan

Image
My first mountain camping experience happened at Gunung Datuk which is located at Kota, Negeri Sembilan. By the way, that's not how I get to the peak of the Gunung Datuk if you are wondering.  Like anyone else, we were hiking up to the mountain. The weather on that day was not so friendly to us but we have prepared ourselves for the worst. There is no need for a guide as the trail is very obvious. The difficulty is easy to moderate. The toughest part for me is the first 1 hour of the climb which is very steep. If having a pair of walking stick will help a lot with the climb. Previously, we had already soaked our legs in the water for long hours during our caving adventure at Gua Batu Maloi . In addition to that, the heavy rains had caused our muscles to cramp easily.  I had all my calf muscles cramped up the moment I reached the top. I was in agonizing pain throughout the remaining 1 hour of the track but I still pushing myself to the top and not giving up. By th...

Caving Experience at Gua Batu Maloi, Johol

Image
My caving adventure for this year happened at Gua Batu Maloi which is located at a small town called Johol, Negeri Sembilan. From north south highway, you need to exit Tampin, and drive another 30 minutes towards Johol. The road to Johol is a little curvy, so extra precaution is required. This is the meet up location of the Gua Batu Maloi. This location is equipped with bathroom for shower. Unfortunately, the shower place is not properly maintained. It is important as this is also the site for camping. The camping rate is at RM10/tent. If you would like to rent a tent is RM25/tent and while stock last. This the entrance of Gua Batu Maloi. I know you would be asking me where is the cave. Actually Gua Batu Maloi is formed by falling rocks which has created a big hallow cave alike. The falling rocks fell on the river. So in other words, be prepared to soak yourself in this trip. About 80% of the route your legs is in the water. The water is chilling cold and it can get stron...

A' Famosa Animal World Safari, Melaka

Image
School break is coming soon and it is the time for the family to find something to get together and have fun. A'Famosa Animal World Safari is  definitely one the place that should be in your consideration. RM45.00 (adult) and RM33.00 for kids above 90cm. I have to purchase a ticket for my son who is just 3 years old. The price is definitely costly. However, the price comes with a free lunch and a drink! So now you know why the price is that costly. You are advised to buy food for feeding after you pass by the ticket entrance. The price is relatively cheaper than buying them elsewhere.  Our first stop is at the elephant section where you can get close to the friendly elephants by feeding them or patting them on their trunk for pictures!  The trainer was showing us how an elephant sits. And how elephants shake their hands. There are two elephant shows running everyday which are at 10.15am and 4.30pm. The duration of the show is about 15-20 minutes....
