Gongs Show (Cong Chieng Show), Xa Lat, Dalat

The Gong (Cong Chieng) Festival will provide a good chance for domestic and foreign visitors to have a better understanding of revolutionary traditions as well as special and unique culture of Central Highlanders. The first Ethnic Group Unity Congress and a ceremony to honour the UNESCO recognition of Cong Chieng as a masterpiece of the oral and intangible cultural heritage of humankind.
Foster your thirst to experience indigenous culture at the Central Highlands of Vietnam! In just half a day, dance among the locals of Xa Lat Village to discover a mystifying gong performance, integral to the identity and history of the native K’Ho ethnic group.
As the central fire burns throughout the night, immerse yourself in the cultural space of the Gongs Show or the Cong Chieng Show! Witness the unfolding of a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity as declared by UNESCO in a night of celebrating the K’Ho's way of life and beliefs.
Learn how the brass instruments were regarded to create a link between humans, divine beings, and the supernatural world with the help of an English speaking guide! Follow the pounding rhythm of the gongs and resonate with the enchanting echoes of the old ways. Be part of the ritualistic setting and ceremonial gathering – enjoy a festive night with the locals and honor an irreplaceable custom of Vietnam!

It is located about 30 minutes from the Dalat City. There is free taste of their wine and a pork skewer are included in the package. We signed up with Klook at RM23.00/pax. One thing about the wine taste is almost everyone is sharing the same straw. It is quite gross and unhygienic.
The Master of Ceremony is speaking Vietnamese throughout the whole show. Basically you will not understand anything about this show unless you know Vietnamese. That's another cons. The audio system is very poor too. It is very irritating and annoying at times.
The best part would be the men and women can play and dance together openly without any shyness.
By the end of the show, you can take picture with them. Overall, I think this show for the tourist is just having fun. However, I prefer to understand their culture and their ethnic group. I also need to know what is the dance is all about. I didn't learn anything out form this show which I find it regrettable. However, the price is not too expensive so it is fine. In the end, I still do not recommend this.
