Nishiki Japanese Restaurant, Kota Kinabalu
After a great experience at Nagasaki Japanese Restaurant, I carry a higher hope to try another Japanese restaurant in Kota Kinabalu. So I made a visit at Nishiki Japanese Restaurant which is located just a street away from Nagasaki Japanese Restaurant.
I find that this restaurant has quite a lot of private rooms compare to other Japanese restaurant in Kota Kinabalu. The decoration and the furniture are a little old-fashioned in my opinion.
This is not a small cup but is a bowl. This is the first time I am having my green tea in a bowl. The green tea is chargeable at RM2.00++/pax and it is refillable.
Sashimi Moriawase @RM80.00++
Creativity: 3/5
Taste: 3/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 3/5 - Only the salmon and the butter fish are fresh. As for the others, they are not fresh at all and immerse unpleasant smell when I was chewing on it.
Chawan Mushi @RM12.00++
Creativity: 3/5
Taste: 4/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 3/5 - This is the best dish among all. I love the smooth and tender egg which is so delicious that melts into your mouth gently.
Cha Soba @RM19.50++
Creativity: 3/5
Taste: 2/5
Price: 2/5
Overall: 2/5 - Cha Soba which I hardly taste any green tea flavor in it. Apart of that, the soba sauce is not impressive at all to bring up the taste of the dull soba.
Australian Beef Steak (150gm) @RM27.00++
Outlook: 3/5
Creativity: 3/5
Taste: 3/5
Price: 2/5
Overall: 2/5 - Not really impressive at all to leave any memorable moment into our mind with the taste.
Overall, I am not recommending this restaurant because their quality is poor and the price is higher than Nagasaki Japanese Restaurant.
