Next is the Deer Cave after my exploration in the Lang Cave which is sitting just next to this cave. Even there are side by side but their cave structure is totally different.
The entrance of the Deer Cave is wider, bigger and taller than Lang Cave.
It is called Deer Cave is obviously because there were a lot of deer coming in and out this cave. After men exploration into this cave, the deer has switch their habitat to another place.
The ceiling is really high and there are lack of artificial light in this cave. Everything is fully depending on the sunlight.
It is another feeling to have bright sunlight shining through the entrance of the cave. By the way, as you can see on the right side of the pillar, they said you can see the side face of the 16th president of the United States, Abraham Lincoln. The angle must be really right and you got to have the imagination for it to see it clearly.
This cave is bigger and will takes you about 15 minutes walk around the cave excluding photo shooting time.
Apart of the structure, this cave smells really bad because of the guano, bats' faeces. There are millions of bats living in this cave. If you are "lucky" enough, you might get bats dropping from above. Not just smell but you can hear the bats' sound as well in this cave.
If you cannot stand with the smell, do bring your mask before entering this cave.
The lights are insufficient and flashlight is almost useless because unable to shine this big cave. So if you would like to take photos in this cave, you have to set your aperture the highest the lens can. For example, F1.8 for my lens. ISO will be set to really high but be prepared for the grainy effect which also known as noise. ISO 6400 is my maximum grainy effect that I can accept for my photo. Next, is to reduce the speed as slow as possible so that more light will absorb into your lens. Usually I use between 1/5 - 1/10. Lastly, you need a good pair of hands and legs to avoid shaking the camera.
With the above, you almost ready to get a good picture like this. If you notice well, this picture is shaky. I do admit I am not good at keeping myself steady.
You might need a high speed continuous shot so that you able to get at least one picture that is less shaky.
There are insects everywhere in this cave. So please do not jump when you see crocroaches running around the walkway.
A type of catfish is found in the stream inside the cave.
Sorry because not many good picture that I able to capture in this cave because of the limited source of light.
Ok, as I have mentioned in my previous post before, that you will be seeing bats flying out from the cave at 5.45pm - 6.00pm for the food. Here is their assembly area. Once every bats has reported in, they will fly out in a line. If you are lucky enough again, you will see the bats will assembling around in a love shape.
Here they are coming out from the caves. Their timing is really sharp.
They are flying out in a group so you wont see a continuous line like this for the whole session. They fly out as if they are all belong to the same family and another family will fly out after the previous one has finished.
It is amazing to see the bats flying out like a shape of a dragon.
This session will continue more than an hour. Imagine millions of adult bats grouping at the entrance before flying out from the cave. This process just take a lot of time. Well, it is pleasuring for us to watch it. Below is the video for this but please pardon me because that day I did not bring any telephoto lens so no close up on the bats.
Overall, Deer Cave got nothing much excitement compare to Lang Cave but the only spectacular thing is watching millions of bats flying out from this cave. Truly amazing!
Things to bring:
1) A non-slip pair of shoes or a strap sandal
2) A bright torchlight with extra batteries just in case you running out of battery in the cave.
3) Wear shorts so that you can walk comfortably.
Total Damage: RM25/pax for 2 caves trip. Ambiance: 1/5 Freakout Level: 2/5 Recommended?: Yes

Not really much entertainment in Sandakan even though they are just beside the sea. No nice beach for water activities and the nearest island like Pulau Selingan and Turtle Island are about 90 minutes away. As for the town itself, basically is this bowling centre called Champ's which has a very nice and good condition bowling alley, bowling shoes and bowling bowls if to compare with bowling centres like in KL. Not very big at all for their bowling centre which only has 12 lanes. Their shoes look so new! Here is a demonstration on how to bowl. Looks pro...I wonder how is the end result. So what do guys think? Is it a strike? They have a lounge here as well. And a cafe too! The price of the bowling is cost at RM4.80 per game per pax. We went at their most peak hours so their price basically has not much different than our KL City price. As for the bowling shoes is chargeable at RM2.00 per pax. FYI, the prices not inclusive government ta...
At Johor Bahru, there is a majestic blue lake which is known as Tasik Biru Kangkar Pulai. It is a hidden gem within Masai, Johor Bahru. The reason it is blue is because of the iron ore quarry nearby. The blue color is from the mineral called copper sulphate but I am not sure if that's the real reason for it because whenever there is a blue lake like this, there will be a iron ore quarry beside of it. Another good example is Tasik Biru Bukit Ibam Muadzam Shah, Pahang. I believe there are other more which you can share with me the location of the blue lake with an iron ore quarry beside it on the comments below. Thanks. A panoramic view of the blue lake. Click to enlarge the picture. To get to here, simple key in "Tasek Biru Kangkar Pulai" into your Waze app. It will leads you directly to this place. There are no designated parking place, so you just have to park beside the main road. It is not difficult to hike because I saw kids have no problem cli...
Linh Phuoc Pagoda is a beautiful Buddhist shrine in Da Lat, every surface of which is covered in stunning mosaics. Completed in 1952, the pagoda is often referred to as the pagoda of broken glass due to the 49-metre-long dragon’s head at the entrance gate, which was meticulously pieced together from 12,000 glass bottles. The main hall consists of two rows of cobblestone mosaics and there are also many intricate mosaic bas-reliefs featuring the histories of the Lotus Sutras and of Shakyamuni. Linh Phuoc Pagoda is 15 minutes away from the Dalat City. To get to here, you can take a taxi, rent a motorbike or take a nice scenic train ride from Dalat Railway Station . There is no entrance fee and you do not even have to pay any money to offer your incense. However, you are highly encourage to contribute a small donation for them to maintain the temple. One of the thing that impressed me is an 18-metre-high golden statue of Bodhisattva, which is decorated with over 600,000 flow...
Go-kart at Sepang International Kart Circuit will be my third post about go-kart after my experience at Shah Alam and Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS) . Yes, I like go-kart because I like the feeling of racing and speeding without worrying being caught by any law officers. Go-kart also consider as the safest racing type of vehicle that I known of. Maybe you might get used with racing on the day but today I am showing you my night racing experience. I am sorry that no racing picture because no one is there to help me to capture any photographs. However, I will explain it in words and hopefully you can almost get the same excitement as I do. Before you decide to come here, you are advised to call their office first to get to know is there any ongoing tournament bookings on your desired time. This is to avoid disappointment and also waste your time and money by travelling all the way here and watching other people racing instead of yourself. This is the sta...
Most of people think if you travel to Hatyai and not visiting their temples, you are just wasting your time at Hatyai. As for my personal opinion, if you come to Hatyai and did not go to Sports Shooting Club (SSC) Hatyai to experience the shooting experience with a real gun, I think you are not just wasting your time at Hatyai but you are wasting your time being a human. You only live once and there is no better way to understand these guns than coming over to SSC. Their gun selections are enough to satisfy your urge. From rifle, pistols, revolvers to shotguns. You would be surprised that their rifle is the cheapest. The price is stated from 890 baht nett for a 15 rounds. I have tried the rifle, beretta and this Smith and Wesson 4506 .45 ACP. This 45 is my favorite among all with 50m shooting range and 8+1 capacity. One of the most expensive gun to rent here. Basically you are shooting at the target paper like this. You can adjust the range of the target ...
My Kluang first Korean Restaurant! Wow...getting so proud with Kluang lately because of their varieties in food which has given me more choices. The Korean Restaurant name is Dong Seoul Korea Restaurant. The crowds are pretty good because most of the local has not really tried a Korean cuisine yet. They will not reluctant to try something new especially K-Pop and K-Drama have always been a hit here! These are their side dishes and they do show their quantity. But the quality is real bad. I refilled none! First time ever I never asked for a refill. This soup is also a part of the side dishes. Pork Neck in progress... This is the worst ever pork neck I have eaten so far. The meat is overcooked and it becomes so hard to chew. Avoid this. Pork belly with the hot & spicy sauce. Oh, by the way...I did not provide the price is because all these are in a set which is cost RM99.00 nett. Hot & Spicy Pork Belly which is not bad but the sauce not really hot & ...
It has been 2 years for not reporting myself to Kuantan, so here I am to add additional good food from Kuantan in my blog. The name of the restaurant is Restoran Wan Seafood & Tomyam Sara Thai Kitchen. It is kinda long name for this restaurant. It is just located opposite Continental Hotel. So very easy spotting for this restaurant especially at night because they are the brightest! Squid with Cashew Nuts (small) @RM6.00 Outlook: 3/5 Creativity: 4/5 Taste: 5/5 Price: 4/5 Overall: 4/5 - Looks untidy but the taste is all that matter. Delicious squid which is the very least is not fishy but tangy. When it mixed together with the crunchy cashew nuts, they are just perfect match. The highlight of all is the chili oil sauce. Without it, this dish is just and ordinary dish. In the end, I keep scooping the chili sauce to fill with my leftover rice. We should have ordered a big portion instead. Kangkung with Oyster Sauce (small) @RM4.00 Outlook: 3/5 Creativity: 4/5 Taste...
Restoran Soon Sin is one of the biggest chain bakuteh restaurant in Johor Bahru. They have quite a lot of branches in Johor Bahru. I made my visit here to understand why it is so famous in Johor Bahru. Besides selling just Bakuteh, they do sell Lei Cha too. Not having a great start as the boss is so rude and impolite as I taking my photos in his premises. Yes, the chef is the boss for this branch. The bakuteh itself is not include all these internal parts and pork balls. If you want them, you need to pay an extra on top of your existing order. You may want to skip it as you can see they do not cover it and the flies are everywhere. It was really a disgusting scene. They serve their bakuteh according to the pax you have on the table and the price is RM10.00++/pax with just the lean meat and the broth itself only. The broth is delicious for the when you had a few sip in the beginning. After you almost finish the food, you will feel the extreme thirst inside your throat. You...
