Jargon Bar and Diner, Menara Standard Chartered

Do you know there is a Bulgarian restaurant in our country? The restaurant is known as Jargon Bar and Diner which is located inside Menara Standard Chartered. I reckon that it is one and only restaurant that serves authentic Bulgarian cuisine in Malaysia. Thanks to my blogger fan cum friend, Ms. Dafy who is a Bulgarian who gave me this great information. The owner of this restaurant is a Bulgarian too. For him to establish such a low demand cuisine in Malaysia is definitely a challenge. Let's give him some support, shall we? Especially this is the only foreign restaurant that is not charging any service charge or even GST!

Overall: 3/5 - I have never ever tasted a potato that is as good as they did. The potato is soft and at the same time there is still crunchiness bite in it. It was really delightful experience. Apart of that the mayonnaise infused with vanilla beans which bring extra fragrance in it instead of just dull sourish taste. They do have other types of salads which I lost their picture which is the White Lady salad. These salads are only available in a Bulgarian cuisine and Russian cuisine.

Overall: 3/5 - This is also a Bulgarian dish. I love the lamb taste which is so soft and tender together with the crispy crust for extra bite sensation. If you are into spicy, please do try their chili paste. It is fragrant and spicy at the same time. I never know the western can make such a spicy chili paste too. If you do not like the gamey lamb taste, you can always choose their mushroom Mousaka.

Pan Grilled Fish @RM20.00

Overall: 4/5 - They do serve other western food too which is equally good such as this Pan Grilled Fish. The Dory fish is so soft and tender with a little crispy delight. Apart of that, the gravy which comes with it is phenomenal. The mixture of cream cheese and chili powder is absolute divine. You would want to have the gravy to mix with their mashed potato to eat too. Basically you drink every last sip of the gravy. Yes, it is that good.

They have another Bulgarian cuisine which is the Stuffed Pepper but it was not available on that day. Anyway, I am very glad and happy to visit a great restaurant like this in Malaysia. Sadly, their location is not very well known to the public. They are more well-known to the office workers who is working around Menara Standard Chartered. I hope they can move to places like Publika, Changkat Bukit Bintang, Scott Garden or even Shaftsbury Square. This will boost the publicity to the people around.
