Kura Japanese Restaurant @One World Hotel

Today, we visited Kura Japanese Restaurant which is under the same company with Zen Sushi, Hokkaido Japanese Restaurant, Sushi Zanmai and Pasta Zanmai. Kura Japanese Restaurant is consider as the most prestigious restaurant among all of them. The restaurant is located inside the five star, One World Hotel.
Started our dinner with Choya (160ml) @RM38.00++. Choya is a Japanese Plum Wine. Highly recommended for people who like to have sourish flavor with slight sweetness inside your alcohol drink.
Next to have, is their special wasabi. For your information, this is not the same with the wasabi that we usually have in Sushi Zanmai.
Shirako Teppan @RM18.00++
Outlook: 3/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 4/5
Price: 2/5
Overall: 3/5 - Shrooms~~~ Deliciously done with the adequate amount of cheesy buttery taste. However, too few shrooms to really enjoy them all.

Unagi Sushi @RM28.00++
Outlook: 3/5
Creativity: 3/5
Taste: 3/5
Price: 2/5
Overall: 2/5 - The unagi itself taste good but when it is served together with the rice which 3x thicker than the unagi itself, I feel like eating the rice more than unagi. The maximum thickness must not more than 2x thickness of an unagi.

Sashimi Moriawase @RM180.00++ - 8 types of sashimi with 3 pieces each, consider the cheapest if to compare with Fukuya Japanese Restaurant and Kampachi Japanese Restaurant. However, you cannot choose any seafood you would like to eat freely. So you only can select what is given in the menu. Unless you tell them you are allergic with prawn (ebi) for example, they will try their best to change it to other similar or lower value seafood for you.
Salmon - As usual is the most delicious one among all.
Takifugu (if not mistaken), takifugu is the blow fish which has to be cut in very thin pieces unlike the other fish. So do not blame them when you are given in very thin pieces. The more translucent the meat, means the chef has the greater skill and it is more delicious or you to eat. Blow fish is a poisonous fish so it is really a test for the chef to provide the meat with less or no poison to you to feast on.
Hotate - not bad but I do not really like Hotate in my Sashimi Moriawase
Tuna in Medium Fat - Usually you will be served with Tuna which is the cheapest among all Tuna meat and follow by Medium Fat Tuna and Tuna Belly (known as Toro) which is the most expensive ones. It is determine by the the total amount of fatty meat. The more fatty meat it has, the more expensive it will be. So when they served us with medium fat Tuna, this sashimi moriawase becomes more worth it.
Oyster but not sure the specific name for it. I still prefer fish in my Sashimi Moriawase somehow.
Kampachi - thick and delicious.
Mackerel - replacing my prawn (ebi). Not bad though.
Uni or known as Sea Urchin. Very unique to me to serve together in the sashimi. But it is not a bad choice!
Inaniwa Cold Udon @RM22.00++
Outlook: 3/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 4/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 3/5 - Used with Zaru Soba and Cha Soba so I thought wanna try something different. In short, I still prefer Cha Soba.

Closer shot on the ingredients to mix with the sauce. Slightly more than the usual one I had.
Chawanmushi @RM10.00++
Outlook: 3/5
Creativity: 3/5
Taste: 4/5
Price: 2/5
Overall: 3/5 - Chawanmushi in a restaurant let this can never be taste any bad. It is just hope to see any different with other restaurant but unfortunately nothing special with this chawanmushi.

Curry Udon @RM22.00++
Outlook: 3/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 4/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 3/5 - I always like a curry which has heavy curry fragrance with a slight spicy kick. This curry udon met my criteria.

Temaki Negitoro @RM12.00++
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 3/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 3/5 - Negitoro means minced tuna belly. Crispy seaweed wrapper with lots of minced tuna belly meat. However, not really impressive.

Once again, it is an amazing Japanese cuisine experience at Kura Japanese Restaurant. I really enjoy every experience I had in such restaurant especially when you are served by a Japanese chef. If you were to ask me to compare between this restaurant with my other Japanese restaurant which I have recommended previously which are Kampachi Japanese Restaurant and Fukuya Japanese Restaurant, I will say for quality wise will still goes to Kampachi and for money wise will goes to Kura Japanese Restaurant. With so much dishes that I ordered, I spent less than RM400.

Total Damage: RM382.80
Ambiance: 5/5
Service: 4/5
Food Serving Speed: Fast
Will I Revisit?: Yes
