Shellout Seafood Restaurant, Dataran Sunway Damansara

Shellout is one of the seafood restaurant that just serve all their seafood on their table without any plates or bowls. Not just that, you are advised to eat with your bare hands. Yes, this is the well-known which is currently is a trend for seafood indulgence. All their seafood is served freshly in Cajun style which is more widely known as Louisiana seafood boil. Please take note to either come very early or call to book to avoid disappointment by waiting in a long queue.
You allowed to borrow their colorful marker pens to sign on any part of the whole restaurant except their table. I saw some of the customers even made it to the ceiling. Incredibly outrageous! Somehow, it makes reminded me on the Harbour Steamboat restaurant. Hmm...that restaurant brings out a lot of memories.
Haha...that bib suits perfectly on that kid of facial expression. She was so excited and this is the only time when she uses her hand to eat and not got scolded! Haha! Her favourite food is the Sweet Potato Fries. It was really unique and delicious. I didn't get to eat a lot of that even when I wanted to. All has been reserved for my beloved god daughter.
Basically, the order is very simple. Just pick one of their seafood set according to number of pax you got and add additional seafood that you wish to eat but it is not in the set. You can choose 4 types of sauces on each seafood you have ordered.
This is their Combo A which comes with 2 rices + Sweet Potato Fries + Lala + Crab + Prawn @RM189.90++. Drinks are ordered separately. This set is good for 2 pax. This set is cooked with their signature sauce which is known as Shell Bang sauce. It is a savory and mild spicy sauce. It blends perfectly with them. No wonder it is their signature sauce. The tool given to eat the crab is just a hammer which is not the best tool! They should have provide a tool like what I had my crab at Moon Folk Sauna Steamboat or at least provide me a clamp instead. By using hammer to crack the crab shell is not just noisy but also messy as the juices and crab shell just flying everywhere. They do advice us to wrap with their kitchen tissue paper but it is still not a good idea because it is still noisy!
Giant Scallop (6 pcs) with butter garlic sauce @RM29.90++. This is my personal favourite because the scallop meat is so plump and succulent which has infused with buttery garlic taste in it. All the seafood freshness burst into your mouth perfectly.
Green Mussel with Lemon Pepper sauce (8 pcs) @RM31.90++. This sauce is slightly spicier compare with their signature Shell Bang sauce as you can see the amount of black pepper on it. The sourish taste from the lemon is not so strong but enough to kick start your appetite. It is another a splendid sauce by Shellout.
Let's dig in! They do not have any halal certificate but they can't be serving pork in a seafood restaurant right? You would be surprised that our Muslim friends love this place so much despite no halal certificate obtained by the restaurant. Overall, it was a truly great experience to try a different kind of way to savor a seafood. As for the price, I would consider them as reasonable because these seafood are fresh and not frozen blast seafood. However, I really do think they should provide a plastic glove for us to eat.
