Leaf & Co. Cafe, Petaling Street

Last week, I went to another "new" cafe which is known as Leaf & Co near Petaling Street. It is considered new to me because I really cannot keep up the pace of the cafe opening like almost everyday in Klang Valley.
What the cafe is doing is to remain the old looking interior with the old paint already chipping off and cement pasting everywhere. Even the floor is not marbled. How brilliant it is to maintain the retro look of it but not doing any renovation at all.

This is their smoking area which you can sit and relax looking at other people stuck in the jam.

This is a kind of old architecture which is quite popular in the past which is have hole at the center of your house. It is really great to see a tree grows inside a shop but I do not know what will happened when it rains. However, I will still compliment the cafe owner for saving their renovation by keep this spot which gives extra brightness inside the shop.

Even the tables and chairs are those antique kopitiam style. Actually I am sick of the Ikea type of furniture in a cafe.
Another great thing is they have a mini swing that is placed inside their cafe. It is an old rusty swing which you might thought it will break anytime but for the kids, they just don't mind.
It fits nicely 3 little angels. Can't you see how happy they are? Amazing how this mini and old swing can still do its magic.

Belgium Dark Chocolate @RM14.50++ - It comes with marshmallow and it is really bitter chocolate in the way I love it so much. However, drink it after your main course because you will get full very easily.
Mocha @RM12.00++ - I saw the barista took her time to decorate it with full of heart. I just can't bear to destroy it.
Latte @RM11.00++ - Isn't it cute? As for taste, I really like their coffee. It suits my taste bud and I got nothing to complain about it.

Crispy Chicken with Cream Sauce @RM21.00++
Outlook: 3/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste:4/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 3/5 - Crispy and crunchy on the outside combining with the fragrance in the inside which makes this chicken chop extraordinary. Add some buttermilk sauce bring the extra fragrant in it. It is quite a small piece for such a price though.

Buttermilk Fried Chicken with Rice @RM23.00++
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 4/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 3/5 - Somehow it is same like the chicken chop but they already pour the buttermilk over the chicken when served and it comes with rice. Taste wise it is the same and it is still delicious. Seriously, the price is a bit too much for a plate like this.

Four Seasons Aglio Olio @RM20.00++
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 4/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 3/5 - I don't understand what they mean by four seasons. Maybe there are four types of seasonings in it because it really tastes flavourful and easily is one of the best Aglio Olio I ever had.

Signature Chicken Chop with Rice @RM21.00++
Outlook: 3/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 4/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 3/5 - I don't understand why it is called chicken chop when I get a piece of drumstick. Anyway, this dish is quite spicy but in a way I love it. Once you bite the chicken, you really can taste all kind of spices in it plus its spiciness all immersed out into your mouth. The feeling is so great and exciting. The rice itself is spicy too and you still need to mix with the savory spicy sambal to give the extra kick. Those who loves spicy, please do try this one. You will not regret it.

Japanese Cheese @RM 12.00++
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 5/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 4/5 - It is my first to be amazed with cheese cake that's so smooth and so creamy. The best part is you don't feel queasy to have it all by yourself at all. Believe me, don't share.

Overall, we really enjoyed every dishes and every drinks that we have ordered here. It is really satisfying when there is no food that is disappointing you on the table. Their service is good and attentive but the only comment I got to make is their price. It is really expensive despite they didn't even invested much in renovation and it is not even air-conditioned.
Total Damage: RM180.15
