Restaurant Coco Steamboat, Old Klang Road

This crowd seems like in a seminar but definitely they were not. They were at the Coco Steamboat waiting for a seat. For your information, this was just half of the crowd that was waiting. There were another half of it waiting outside the restaurant by standing with hope their name or number to called. You might think that this restaurant only provide few tables to accommodate their patron. If you do think that way, you are wrong.
This is the restaurant's dining halls. I would dare to say it is easily more than 50 tables available here. It is like a grand ballroom size in here and all fully packed.
They have a smaller room which is in air-conditioned which fits about 20 tables only. If you would want to reserve a seat, you need to reserve before 6.00pm. After 6.00pm, they will not accept any reservation and you will be queuing up like what you saw in my first picture. For your information, the free parking in front of the restaurant is very limited. However, you can park at the empty land beside the restaurant at RM5.00/entry.
Their most popular soup based is their signature Coco Pork Bone Soup @RM22.20++ with unlimited refill for soup based only. The soup based is very essential to earn loyal customers. No matter how good your ingredients you have, if you do not have a good soup based, your steamboat restaurant will not going to make it. Coco Steamboat knows this too well and they only have 3 soup based but this Coco Pork Bone Soup is the only one people will coming back for it. The soup is full of ingredients to maintain the fragrance and natural sweetness in it
Seafood Set (for 2 pax) @RM74.10++ - They have a lot of different kinds of set which cater to the number of people that is dining and to people who prefers either seafood or meat. If you think the set is not enough or do not have the food you are looking for, you can always pick their ala-carte food.
Swiss Chard @RM8.40++ and Golden Mushroom @RM5.20++ - This dish is optional but all the dishes below MUST ORDER!
Sliced Pork @RM13.70++
Sliced Lamb @RM14.70++
Homemade Prawn Ball @RM14.70++
Homemade Spanish Mackerel Ball @RM8.40++
Overall, I do acknowledge their soup based was really delicious and all their seafood is truly fresh. Not to forget their homemade prawn ball and mackerel ball were tangy and tasty too. As for the price, I would say it is fair because it cost about RM40/pax not inclusive beverage to get yourself full. Basically, I have never had such an amazing steamboat experience for quite a long time. I will definitely recommend everyone to think about this restaurant when you have sudden crave of seafood. They have 3 branches which are at Taman Bukit Hijau, Cheras, Batu 11 Cheras and this one from Jalan Klang Lama. Once again let me remind you, if you are here after 6.00pm, please be prepared to wait about 30 minutes to one hour for a table.
Total Damage: RM162.70++
Ambiance: 3/5
Service: 3/5
Food Serving Speed: Fast
Will I Revisit?: No. I still do not think it is worth the wait while there are plenty of choices along Jalan Klang Lama.
