Red Tomato Restaurant, Langkawi

Red Tomato is owned by a French lady if I am not mistaken and serve local and western food here. It is one of the famous restaurant in Langkawi because the price is not overly expensive like any other similar range restaurants.
Their interior design is exquisite and using a lot of red, black and white as their theme color. After all, the restaurant name is Red Tomato.
It is not a big restaurant so the seats are pretty limited inside. They have more tables outside the restaurants The ambiance is quite relaxing and calm .
A complimentary salted popcorn while waiting for our food. Taste ok...but caramel popcorn is still my favourite.

Overall: 2/5 - Taste a little sourish which at first I thought they mistakenly mix some tomato soup in it. However, they did clarified to us politely that it was supposed to taste like that. Well, I just have to accept a mushroom soup with sourish taste.

Overall: 3/5 - You can select the level of the meat to be cooked. As what I have selected here is a medium rare lamb. Slight gamey taste which I like it. Not much meat and mostly bone. The portion is not too big.

Overall: 3/5 - It is a Swiss dish which is made from veal and kidney as the main ingredients. It is accompany by white wine, cream and demiglace sauce. As for the taste, it is quite unique but it is still far from my acceptable level. Maybe I am still not ready for the kidney part.

Overall, I find this restaurant is not that as great as I have expected. However, if you are not as picky as I am, this restaurant can be one of the good choices to be chosen as your breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Overall: 3/5 - It is also known as their signature Symphony of Starters, which takes you across the breadth of Indochinese cuisine with Vietnamese shrimp crystal rolls, lemongrass prawns, Cambodian-style deep-fried shrimp cakes and minced chicken on cinnamon sticks. All served with a variety of piquant sauces. The plate is just nice for 2 pax but the price is too expensive for that small portion.

This is a chicken tomyam clear soup with coconut meat in it. Very delicious and creative way to make it. The coconut meat is the highlight of the entire soup. It just gave the soup an extra coconut fragrance in it and of course, they are edible. Do not worry, the soup is not too spicy.

Overall: 4/5 - It contains of cashew meringue, Mascarpone cream, honey balsamic cream served with white chocolate dipped vanilla Magnum topped with freeze dried raspberries and fresh strawberries. My suggestion is to mix them all together including the ice cream itself otherwise by eating the ice cream alone will be too sweet. Once you mixed them all together, the magic comes. The sensational taste of creamy, crunchy, a little sourish kick and sweetness combining all together to create a wonderful ice cream dessert. Definitely is a must order dessert when you are there.
