Pulau Sepanggar, Kota Kinabalu

Image
We all know about Tunku Abdul Rahman Park that consists of 5 islands which are Pulau Gaya (the biggest island), Pulau Sapi , Pulau Mamutik , Pulau Manukan and Pulau Sulug . Have you heard of  Pulau Sepanggar? This island is just 10-15 minutes away from Jesselton Jetty  but not many of us notice it unless you open your Google Map. This island is not listed in the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park so it is not really well known. One part of the beach at Pulau Sepanggar is owned by Riverbug company to build their cafeteria, dive center and also chalet. They have started building in May 2012 and expected full completion on June 2014. Rumors said our country's famous Scorpene, the attacking submarine is standing by here but somehow I do not see this island like a marine headquarter though. They are already opened for public 6 months ago and we are here to enjoy their so called "private beach" service. The only left under construction are the jetty, dive center and the ch...

Ferdinand's @The Magellan Sutera Harbour

Today I will bring you to a romantic dinner at Ferdinand's, The Magellan Sutera Harbour. This is an Italian 5 star restaurant which you must be ready for an expensive bill during checking out. If that day is special for you, just let them know and they will place you to a special quiet location with a lot of romantic decoration around it. Our chef today is Chef Daniele Rossetto from Venice, Italy. We have a very high expectation with the food that is about to serve to us from him. We have a dedicated waitress called Ms. Alice that is specially assigned to serve us personally. She is always standing nearby to attend to us if we need anything. Very attentive customer service is given by this restaurant. The choices in their menu is not a lot for you to choose from but it is fine for me because at least you know every each of them are the signature by Chef  Daniele Rossetto. Complimentary delicious bread is given to us. I wish to finish them off but I do not ...

Tuaran Mee Restoran, Tuaran

Image
Looks like the same shop that I had before at Kota Kinabalu for their Tuaran Mee but from their menu, they are definitely different. Actually, my initial intention to come to Tuaran is to try their authentic Tuaran noodle at Restoran Lok Kyun. Unfortunately, they are closed on Monday but the lady boss kind enough to show us the way to her brother's restaurant which here. She claimed that the noodle is made by her and just the cooking style will be different. Tuaran mee is an egg noodle which is very tangy and delicious. In my previous experience, I am not really fancy how they make the noodle because it was too dry for me. So this time I decided to order with soup in it. Tuaran Mee Soup Special @RM8.00 Outlook: 3/5 Creativity: 3/5 Taste: 3/5 Price: 2/5 Overall: 2/5 - The noodle is really delicious but the soup is quite plain. Well, at least it does not have the dryness feeling anymore. Kan Lau Mee Special @RM9.00 Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 4/5 Taste: 4/...

Restaurant Puteri Hang Li Po @Karamunsing Capital

Never try a Chinese Muslim and Thai cuisine before. Found one at Kota Kinabalu so I have decided to give it a try. The restaurant is called Puteri Hang Li Po. The well-known princess from Ming Dynasty of China that is married to Sultan Mansur Shah from Malacca. They serve free flow of Chinese tea here too. That's a surprise for me. We had a set dinner which is pretty affordable at the price of RM69.00++ for 2 pax. We can select a total of 4 dishes with 2 bowls of white rice are included. We can choose any dish we want in their menu. There are quite a lot of choices too. Tomyam - The tomyam is quite spicy but it is just like the way I wanted to be. Delicious! The problem is their ingredients in it is quite stingy. Butter Prawn - A bit cold and the prawn is not so fresh. I wonder if it is already cooked before we order. Sabah Vege - This is the best among all the dishes we are having. Steamed Tilapia - The price of RM69.00++ is inclusive of one whole fish which ...
