Cestino Bakery & Bistro, Taman Desa Tebrau

Everyone said there are a lot of good food at Johor Bahru but I unable to find a decent one to add in my Johor Bahru category until I met Cestino Bakery & Bistro.
A very decent and comfortable restaurant which is a really nice place to have a break away from your workplace with UNiFi connection available.
I am not into coffee but their tea is not bad at all especially this Gryphon Artisan which is so rich and creamy in a sense that bring the whole aromatic flower taste into your mouth. You feel revitalized. It is cost at RM10.90++
Pumpkin Soup @RM7.90++

Taste: 4/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 3/5 - Rich and creamy pumpkin soup which is rated as the second best compare to other soups.

Broccoli Soup @RM7.90++
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 5/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 4/5 - I hate broccoli itself but when they turned it into a soup like this. It is very delicious. The first taste is very easily got mixed up with a Hakka Cuisine called Lei Cha. After a while, you will know how to differentiate them. This soup is rather sweet and with no real bitter taste is it.

Portobello Mushroom Soup @RM7.90++
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 5/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 4/5 - Hardly able to rate who is the best between this mushroom soup and the broccoli soup. They are equally delicious in a different manner. I like this mushroom soup which has the thick mushroom taste in it and a lot of tiny bits real mushroom to chew on. Absolutely delightful. The bread stick is delicious too. I hope they can let us add more garlic bread stick. They are just not enough.

Escargot 1/2 Dozen @RM12.90++
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 3/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 3/5 - Not the type that I want because it is too well-cooked. It is good for those who does not like to taste any raw taste in it.

Baked Green Mussel 1/2 Dozen @RM12.90++
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 4/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 3/5 - The same technique how they make the Escargot. What I like about this is the mussels served are big and you got to taste more on the cheesy taste with a little spicy kick with it compare with the Escargot which has little meat to chew on.

Smoked Duck Spaghetti @RM17.90++
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 5/5
Taste: 5/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 4/5 - I love this dish so much because of the "melt in your mouth" duck meat. Just take me 4-5 chews and it melts so nicely in my mouth. The taste is making me so excited. Meanwhile, the spaghetti is so creamy and not too cheesy to make queasy is just too perfect for me. This is the best pasta I have ever came across with.

Tiramisu @RM10.90++
Outlook: 5/5
Creativity: 5/5
Taste: 5/5
Price: 4/5
Overall: 4/5 - Almost scored a full mark! Can you see the dripping mascarpone cheese? It is so inviting you to take a bite from it. I like this Tiramisu so much because of the Rum taste is just nice enough to make you to dig for the next scoop before you even swallow the one you had earlier. This is the best Tiramisu you can find in the whole Johor Bahru. The size is really big for such a price. It is truly worth it!

Chocolate Cream Brulee @RM10.90++
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 1/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 3/5 - The chocolate is too bitter. It is a real dark chocolate almost 75% dark. To those who loves dark chocolate, can try this. The interesting thing beside the chocolate cream brulee is the green apple which is dipped in honey. Too sour for the green apple. A mixed of bitter taste from the chocolate cream brulee, sourish taste from the green apple and a little sweetness from the honey...they just don't blend at all for me.

Vanilla Cream Brulee @RM10.90++
Outlook: 5/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 3/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 3/5 - This cream brulee is one of the best I had in my whole life. Smooth vanilla cream mixed with flamed crunchy sugar, it is just perfect for me. But the red color is the green pear which is too sourish and does not match with the cream brulee at all. I think they should just sell the cream brulee itself only.

A closer look. Some blog mentioned that it is sweet and juicy. Please do not fall for that. It is not happening that way.
Located right behind the Jusco Tebrau and almost easily neglected their existence. In my opinion, this is a must visit restaurant because most of their food are truly delicious. I can feel every heart is put onto the food and dessert. I just hope they can maintain the quality and never reduce their ingredients forever.
