Kampachi Japanese Restaurant @Troika

Kampachi opened a new branch near KLCC inside a building which is known as Troika. The main branch inside the Equatorial Hotel has closed down due to the hotel is doing whole building renovation. This branch at Troika just opened this year and they are providing a slightly different type of semi-buffet brunch. RM150++/pax (adult) and RM85.00++/pax (child). Since it is a new place, I always wanted to share the best with my respected Elayne jie to celebrate her birthday.
Semi-buffet to them means there are ala-carte buffet and self-service buffet as well. There are certain dish in this menu which you only can order once which are their premium sashimi and main dish.
Drinks are chargeable and we had a delightful Kirara Rice Tea which cost me at RM18.00++/pot.
This is their premium sashimi which consists of Toro, Kanpachi and Tai. Each pax can only have one slice of each. They are really fresh and delicious but I just hate them for being so stingy. They should have given at least 3 pieces for each pax.
There are 5 main dish to be chosen from and one person only can choose one. The portion is not very big. This is the Tarabagani Yaki (150gm) - Grilled Hokkaido King Crab with elegant sweetness with sophisticated taste.
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 4/5
Overall: 4/5 - Indeed it is very sweet and fresh. Not a bad choice if you a seafood lover.

Wagyu Asparagus Maki (2 pieces) - Most Exclusive Beef: Grilled Japanese Wagyu rolled Asparagus cooked in garlic butter.
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 5/5
Overall: 4/5 - According to Elayne jie, this taste better than the crab. She likes the pleasuring of the beef melting in her mouth nice and slow. I felt so happy when each chew she made has carved a great smile on her face.

Here is the buffet table which you have to help yourself with all the salads, sushis and sashimis. You can take as many time as you like. This is unlimited.
We picked something that we seldom see in any other buffet is this Salmon Carpricio. In other Japanese restaurant, I only able to order it in ala-carte order. This time I can eat as much as I like!!! Cool!!!
These are their sushis and sashimis which are really delicious and fresh. The work art are not done very shabbily like any other buffet restaurant. Below onwards are their unlimited ala-carte order.
Ikura Chawan Mushi - Steamed egg topped with salmon roe. You won't get this kind of chawanmushi even if you dine at Zipangu Japanese Restaurant. The best part is you can order as many as you want.
Unagi Tofu - Brailled bean curd topped with grilled eel. The tofu is so tender and soft. Extremely delicious but the unagi is just too small for me to taste.
Kaki Guratan - Gratin of oyster. Very delightful cheese mixed with the fresh oyster which you won't taste any fishy taste in it.
Hotate Butter-Ni - Pan-fried Hokkaido Scallop with Garlic Butter. The scallop is quite big and fresh but this dish is just ok only.
Cha Soba - Common green tea cold buckwheat noodle. Nothing special about this dish. You may skip if you want to.
Gindara Saikyo Yaki - Grilled Cod Fish with butter. This is the best dish among all voted by my Elayne jie. She ordered 4 times for this. I really do agree with her that this is really delicious. The cod fish is so fresh and the best part is the moment you sink your teeth in it, the buttery fragrance roam slowly all over your mouth.
Salmon Teppanyaki - a very small piece which is just nice to have a good taste of it. This is what I like about this restaurant in serving their ala-carte buffet. All are made in mini-size so you won't get full too quickly and able to taste everything they serve.
Lastly, you will get a plate of dessert like this which consists of matcha ice cream, black sesame ice cream, red bean jelly, mochi and assorted seasonal fruits. You can top up their ice cream unlimited time. This is a great ending for our delicious Japanese buffet. This is the best Japanese buffet I have been so far. The price maybe quite expensive but what I can say the food quality here is very worth every cents you paid.
They have 2 sessions for their brunch which is 11.00am - 12.45pm and 1.00pm - 2.45pm. I love their service too. Even though you might stay a little longer than the scheduled session, they do not do any action that seems like want to chase you away. They still asked us if we would like to add more ice creams and refill our teapot. 5 star service I would say. Kampachi never disappoint me to become the best Japanese restaurant in my heart.
