Yamaguchi Fish Market, KL

Yamaguchi Fish Market is inspired by fish market in Japan which allows customer to choose seafood from the market and they will prepared for them either in sushi or sashimi for them to eat fresh. That's the original way how it was started but time goes by competition is getting harder, many came out with different idea. So does Yamaguchi Fish Market to have it in a restaurant instead of a market.
They have sushi bar for customers to appreciate the chef serving the food right in front of them.
The seating are not a lot because mostly it has been placed by their tank to put their live seafood.

They have their fresh seafood deliver twice a week and this is the first time I see how they packed their live lobster.
That's the price of their live lobster. I wish one day I can eat a 5kg lobster. It would be the greatest dream I ever had.
They had a lot of lobsters. There were 4 tanks full of lobsters which makes me wonder do they sell that many lobsters? That's incredibly scary if really they do.
Apart of lobsters, there are oysters, clams, Alaskan crab and mud crab. That's all. No live fishes. Not so much of a fish market to me. I heard when they opened in 2015, they had fishes and it was really like a fish market. Somehow I feel right now it is just a gimmick.
Japanese Seafood Curry Rice Set @RM19.00++
Outlook: 3/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 4/5
Price: 4/5
Overall: 3/5 - It was a tiny hint of spiciness. You will taste more of the curry fragrance instead. It was a decent dish for such a price.

The set comes with edamame. cold tofu and miso soup. It is a very worthy set.

Steamed Unagi Rice @RM46.00++
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 5/5
Price: 4/5
Overall: 4/5 - This is their special unagi menu which is not available in their common menu. It was really worth it as you can see the large piece of unagi with their fragrant Japanese rice and egg for less than RM50.00. It is even more worth it when you able to taste the sweetness and the softness of such a big piece of unagi melting inside your mouth. The best part is it is boneless. Perfect!

Medium Boat Sushi (1 meter) @RM538.00++ - They have 3 different sizes of boat and this is the smallest which is suitable for 6 pax. The other sizes are suitable for 10 pax (1.5meter) @RM888++ and 20 pax (2 meter) @RM1688++. The largest boat comes with 19 different types of sushi, sashimi, maki, lobster and many more.
There is one lobster given in this boat and obviously it is just about 1kg. I doubt they will give anything larger than that since a 1.5kg already cost 90% of the this medium boat price. Anyway, The lobster is really fresh, sweet and tangy. How I wish I can have it all by myself.
As for our Medium boat, it doesn't comes with all 19 types. There are only 13 types which are live oyster, salmon sashimi, kampachi sashimi, butterfish sashimi, steamed prawn, steamed clam, steamed Canadian lobster, steamed scallop, kani maki, salmon maki, california maki, shisamo and tori karaage.

Since it is meant for 6 pax, so everyone got one piece each and together with 1kg of Canadian lobster. It is really enjoying to eat the shisamo all by itself.
I do not understand why the seafood boat comes with chicken. Doesn't blend with others and it is not delicious too. Others are 100% fresh, sweet and delicious. Overall, I really enjoying the boat. Even though it is quite expensive for RM100/pax to enjoy a boat which you only get to eat one piece of each.
They are currently running a promotion for boat ice cream. This is a small size which cost RM38.00++ which is meant for 6 pax. Next is 10 pax @RM88.00++ and 15 pax @RM138.00++. If your birthday is falls on 7 days before or after, you get them for free (IC is required). The ice cream is really delicious with three big scoops of goma ice cream, matcha ice cream and vanilla ice cream. It is really genuine smooth ice cream which you will not regret having it. The bottom of the ice creams are mixed fruits of water melon, strawberries and honey dew.
We had a wonderful boat meals. It was an awesome restaurant which we are able to experience different kinds of Japanese cuisine presentation. I never regret coming here and I do think it is worth the price.
