Ten Japanese Fine Dining @Marc Residence

I have been always missing Ten Japanese Fine Dining after my last visit was almost 2 years ago. After they have moved to Marc Residence from Solaris Dutamas, I have never visiting this restaurant until this day which is a Valentines' Day. The reason I chose this restaurant is because they do not restrict their menu on that day by serving Valentines' Day menu only. The reason I do not like restaurant restrict their menu because I might not like the set that they are serving on that day.
This is their sushi bar where you have your omakase course. Their omakase course is only RM300++/pax which comes with 7 outstanding course. They have a Teppanyaki course too which is cost at RM320++/pax and you are able to sit like this too in front of the chef but unfortunately this is the only course that is not available during Valentines' Day.
The other courses which are Sushi Course @RM320++/pax and a 5-Course meal @RM250++/pax which you get to choose any from the ala-carte menu. Please do note that for the portion in the 5-Course meal will be slightly smaller than the actual one in the ala-carte menu. That's pretty common in most of the restaurant.
This is my Valentine and we had our 5-Course meal separately. The price listed below is the price if you order from their ala-carte.
3 kinds Sashimi - This is an entree for the course and it is not available in the ala-carte menu. You can choose any of your desired sashimi as long as not from their premium sashimi category. I had one slice of tuna, one slice of salmon belly and 2 pieces of white fish which is placed on an exquisite plate as you can see from the picture above. As for the taste, I love tuna the most because it is fresh and sweet. This is one of the best tuna that I ever had. The other fishes are not bad too. I will definitely come back again for more of their sashimi.
Croquette @RM52.00++
Outlook: 5/5

Price: 2/5
Overall: 4/5 - This is a Japanese Stew "Wagyu Nikujyaga" Croquette. A tiny small cutlets of their premium wagyu is encased in all of them but they are made in different tastes. The crispy crust of the croquette is not oily and queasy. The moment you sink your teeth in it the juices inside it flowing out aromatically inside your mouth. Three different types of unique taste which left you wonder why there are only one each.

Japanese Fresh Oyster @RM55.00++
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 5/5
Price: 2/5
Overall: 3/5 - You will only get 3 pieces if you order ala-carte. It is definitely not enough especially when it is so deliciously fresh! It doesn't taste any fishy in it but just the seafood sweetness. Once again I have to stress it again, it is really not enough!

Japanese Pumpkin Soup with Smokey Milk Foam @RM32.00++
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 5/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 4/5 - Thick creamy broth of pumpkin soup which carries a smooth texture with full of pumpkin fragrance to entice your entire taste bud. There are 2 fresh scallops in this shop which are so sweet and tender too. Please do not share this soup. Have it for your own. I can assured you that you will feel it is not enough.

“Osuimono” Japanese clear soup of the day @RM35.00++
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 4/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 3/5 - Osuimono means clear soup in Japanese language. So everyday their clear soup will be different so today's clear soup of the day is fish with yam. The fish taste is so strong for such a small bowl of soup. It is truly amazed me by any means. The yam is so sweet and soft which melts slowly in my mouth without much effort. This is a truly amazing soup which I had experience for the first time.

Sauteed Lobster with Fennel Bisque sauce @RM110.00++
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 5/5
Taste: 4/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 4/5 - You will get a whole lobster if you order an ala-carte. The fresh lobster with a tangy texture definitely gives your mouth a chewing sensation while the seafood freshness aromatically immersed slowly. The Fennel Bisque sauce gives you the sourish taste which is another new experience for me to have for a seafood meal.

Fish of the day - Cod Fish @RM115.00++
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 5/5
Taste: 5/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 4/5 - I got used with a softer texture from a cod fish teriyaki. This is the harder version. Harder in the sense that you need more chewing work to do before you swallow it. It does sound like not that kind of cod fish you would have wanted. Please do surprise that this is a whole new taste of cod fish that you would like it as much as the softer version. You would enjoy chewing it a while longer because of the fish aroma mixed with the sweet teriyaki sauce and infused with the grilling flavor in it are a truly divine combination.

Homemade "Seiro" Cold Soba @RM54.00++
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 5/5
Taste: 5/5
Price: 2/5
Overall: 4/5 - This is one of the best ever cold soba that I had so far. Usually I only see restaurants served with quail egg but Ten restaurant served with a poached egg mixed with fish roe. You have to mix the poached egg, all the seaweed, all the onion and a tiny bit of wasabi inside the soba sauce. The outcome is extremely outstanding! I always know a cold soba is really delicious but this is way better than what I have expected! Especially the homemade seiro is so tangy and soaked up a right amount Mentsuyu while carries some seaweed, onion and a little poached egg sticking on the noodle. The combination gives you an ultimate satisfaction.The fragrance of it is just not indefinable. Note: I ordered this ala-carte. It is not because the 5-Course failed to make me full but they just making me more hungrier.

Melting chocolate with honey cinnamon yogurt ice cream @RM40.00++
Outlook: 3/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 4/5
Price: 2/5
Overall: 3/5 - The appearance is deceptively not very fascinating. Most of the restaurants will serve with a normal ice cream which carries nothing but sweetness in it. Both chocolate and ice cream are sweet which sometimes makes you feel that it is overly sweet. But this combination of the sweet chocolate with a sourish ice cream taste is just nicely tame the sweetness of the chocolate while giving you a sourish excitement in it. Fantastic idea!

This is their seasonal dessert which is only available during Valentines' Day. Not impressive at all to be mentioned here. It is too sourish which brings absolutely unpleasant taste into my mouth. So you are not going to miss it.
A complimentary cookies and photo frame when we dined here during Valentines' Day. Please do take note that parking here is free if you park inside Marc Residence. Do get your parking ticket validated at the counter before you leave.
Overall I had a fantastic dining experience here. Excellent service and delicious food. Anything you see on their menu will definitely please you. This is definitely one of the best Japanese restaurant that I ever had.
