Taang Shifu @Johor Premium Outlet, Kulai

Once again I visited Johor Premium Outlet which is very near to Senai Airport. This time, I am not there to shop but to eat! I had my good experience here previously at Kampachi Japanese Restaurant so this time I would like to have something different which is quite well-known now which is called Taang Shifu. Taang means soup and Shifu means teacher or master. So when you combined the meanings together, you will know they are master in making good soups. Let's find out if that is the truth.

The entrance of Taang Shifu. You will be carefully assigned a seat according to the number of pax at the reception front door. A restaurant layout will briefly display about the seating that you are about to seat.
A high class seating arrangement
This area for the number of pax of 4 and below.
Honestly, the menu is pretty attractive with the pictures of the soups and other dishes which makes your saliva dropping. A lot of dishes that I wish to order but too bad that a lot of them are not available just because two ingredients that were running out of stock on that day which were the baby abalone and dried scallop. That's very disappointing. Apart of that, their menu has a lot of grammar errors and spelling mistakes. Saving proofreading fee?
Autumn Tea @RM12.90++
Outlook: 3/5
Creativity: 3/5
Taste: 1/5
Price: 2/5
Overall: 2/5 - You will always feel overly priced when the tea is not taste like one. All I can taste is rock sugar water. Terrible!

Despite of the lousy flower tea, I do like their tea cup somehow. There is a thick layer which you will not feel hot when you hold it to drink.
Liver Detoxification Nourishing Soup Set @RM22.90++
Outlook: 3/5
Creativity: 3/5
Taste: 2/5
Price: 1/5
Overall: 2/5 - When I taste the soup, I know the soup is boiled for long hours but with lack of Chinese herb ingredients in it. Saltiness is all I can taste of. But that is not all...

With the only small piece of drumstick in the soup which my middle finger has more meat than this...please do ponder upon the hefty price tag again.
Mee Suah with Herbs & Rice Wine @RM13.90++
Outlook: 3/5
Creativity: 3/5
Taste: 3/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 3/5 - The soup is full of rice wine taste. Pretty reasonable.

Their signature mee suah which I really hardly find a difference with the one at the hawker stall.
Snow Jelly with Gingko @RM8.90++
Outlook: 3/5
Creativity: 2/5
Taste: 2/5
Price: 2/5
Overall: 2/5 - Not much Gingko and Snow Jelly to chew on.

Coconut Milk Stew Snow Jelly @RM19.90++
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 2/5
Price: 1/5
Overall: 2/5 - No difference than the Snow Jelly with Gingko in taste. The only difference is the coconut which the meat is hard to dig on and it is already cost more than RM10.00 difference.

Seriously this restaurant is really an over-priced restaurant which is not worth to dine in. Claimed that their specialty is the soup but actually the quality of their soup is way way over-priced by their stingy ingredients in it.

Total Damage: RM91.05
Ambiance: 4/5
Service: 3/5
Food Serving Speed: Very Fast
Will I Revisit?: No
