Tamarind Springs @ Jalan TAR, Ampang

Image
Tamarind Springs is a sister company with Tamarind Hills but at different location and different concept. Tamarind Springs is located inside a jungle like area. So there are no air-conditioner provided and you are surrounded by greens. Very nice atmosphere to have your meals. An exotic dining experience! Tamarind Springs serves Indochinese Cuisine so you will be expecting Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand cuisine in their menu. To get to here is a little bit tricky. Even Google Maps and Waze failed to guide you to the right place. Basically you will only see this restaurant after you passed by the Royal Club Selangor Golf Course. For exact location, please click on the link on the word "Location" at the end of this post. There is a guarded parking lot provided which is free of charge. So do not worry about your expensive vehicle leaving in the wild and dark in the middle of the night. You have to be amazed with the landscape and design of this restaurant. Pretty...

Restoran Orchard View Yong Tau Foo, Ampang New Village

Image
Ampang is famous with their Yong Tau Foo so a lot of restaurant using this existed name to open a lot of Yong Tau Foo restaurant. Just along this small road of Jalan Merdeka already have 3 Yong Tau Foo restaurants next to each other. I wanted to go to the famous Foong Foong Restaurant but unfortunately they were closed on the Mooncake Festival. In the end I have to settle my Yong Tau Foo indulgence with this Restoran Orchard View Yong Tau Foo. It was a very disappointing one. So I will just run through quickly about it. Their dumplings is big but too salty. Spoiling my appetite and wasting my time when I have to use hot water to rinse it. Another thing I dislike was the waitress whom keep pushing me to order their Steam Salted Chicken which she claimed that is their restaurant's signature. So in the end, I just ordered it to see how good is their signature dish. I am expecting a good Steam Salted Chicken should be something which is salty enough to bring out the chicken f...

Restoran Loke Yun Chicken Rice, Ampang

Image
Hey hey...today I got a special guest! Wee~~~ Ann Jee in the house! She was with me at Restoran Loke Yun Chicken Rice which is located at Ampang near the LRT Ampang and Ampang Police Station. I just love to last minute date with her by waking her up from her sleep. *Giggles* This is their homemade chili sauce and garlic sauce. I find it quite ok but nothing to be "wow" about. 1/2 Kampung Chicken @RM33.00 Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 4/5 Taste: 4/5 Price: 2/5 Overall: 3/5 - This is a delicious kampung chicken. The chicken meat is really tangy and delicious. Definitely you know this chicken is not the common chicken that we eat which always sit in the cage. The minimum order for the kampung chicken is half. So you cannot request for specific parts for the kampung chicken. The price indeed is really at a steep for half chicken only. They only sell steamed chicken in Hainanese style so do not expect any roasted chicken, BBQ pork or roasted pork here. You ca...

Jung Won Restoran Korea BBQ, Ampang

Image
I always wanted to make a visit at the famous Jung Won Restoran Korea BBQ but I never able to make it because of this restaurant is just next to Sayfol International School. During their lunch hour, it is really hard to get in here and even get a parking. I really sympathy with this restaurant because they will not able to get any customers during this hour. Unless they meet a persistent customers like us. I determine enough to introduce our local Korean cuisine to my friend from China.  This is the seating outside of the restaurant but I prefer to seat inside. They just renovated a small section of their restaurant. Their entrance looks nicer this time. This is the new design of their air-conditioned section. Tidier and more neat than before. They will cook the meat in their kitchen so no more live cooking to see in this restaurant anymore. The good part is you can leave this restaurant without any unwanted smell on your body. I got myself a private room. They on...

Alexis @Great Eastern Mall

Image
By now, everyone should be familiar with Alexis, or at least, have heard of the restaurant. Established since 1995, many consider Alexis as a fusion restaurant and frequently compares it with Deli cious . If you asked me to choose between them, I would say both are completely of the same standard. The only difference is, Alexis has live performances on certain days, which was started since 2003. Alexis has opened dozens of branches everywhere, and almost as many as Delicious owns. I am here at Great Eastern Mall today to dine where it is the nearest to me. "Where izz me Buttery Nipples?" "What?! No hav? Jez gimme Kamikaze or Jell-o Shots or anything to get me boozed!" Caught this little man solo in action, leaving his parents at their dining table. So cute! Too bad, we were there on a Sunday! The live performance here is usually on Friday & Saturday nights. They're also the only days when fresh oysters are available on their menu. Soup of t...
