Babe Japas Fine Dining, Work @Clearwater

Image
Babe is an amalgamation of Michelin-starred Chef Jeff Ramsey’s artful finesse for progressive modernist cuisine and the BE Group’s signature boutique sophistication (the purveyors of original concept eateries such as Ploy and Way Modern Chinois). Serving up Japanese-accented tapas, or “Japas” as Ramsey has coined, Babe will be focused on a unique ‘fun dining’ experience as opposed to the structured world of ‘fine dining’. The restaurant is located at 11th floor and in order to get here, you need to let the security guard know and he will flash his card at the lift to send you right to the front door of the restaurant. You are advised to book in advance to avoid disappointment especially there are only 3 tables that are facing directly towards the KL city.  The menu at Babe offers are an exquisite mix of flavors, textures and temperatures, promising an unparalleled multi-sensory dining experience. True to the tapas concept, the “Japas” menu at Babe is sharing-style, belie...

Beans N Beans Korean Dessert Premium Cafe, Damansara Uptown

Image
It is always a special feeling to meet a new friend from Korea in Malaysia. It feels like I have widen my network of friends to other countries. The weird part is I am not introducing her with our local delicacies but I am taking her to a Korean cafe in Malaysia which is known as Beans N Beans, Korean Dessert Premium Cafe. The reason is to show her how much Korean culture has infected in Malaysia. She was really surprised with so many Korean restaurants and cafes in Klang Valley especially in PJ Area.  How about the taste? Is it the same like in Korea? That's what I want to find out from her. In this cafe, there are board games, card games and other family games available for you to spend a long sweet time here. There are not many tables here but the owner's concept is to let his patrons to enjoy the cafe as long as possible. BBQ Ma Eul Cup Bab, Damansara Uptown

Image
BBQ Ma Eul Cup Bab is a new hot Korean restaurant at Damansara Uptown especially during at night, you will see this restaurant is extremely crowded. I skipped all the crowd and decided to dine for lunch. To be honest, their side dishes is not so impressive. Only their salad and kimchi are acceptable. Their kimchi stew comes with the BBQ set. BBQ Set 2 @RM79.00++ which comes with pork ribs, pork belly and spicy pork belly. It is deliciously good but unfortunately it is not refillable. Huunje Ori Gui @RM28.00 Outlook: 3/5 Creativity: 3/5 Taste: 3/5 Price: 2/5 Overall: 2/5 - I have tried a better BBQ smoked duck than this. It is not flavorful as I am expected it to be.  BBQ Pork Ribs Outlook: 3/5 Creativity: 4/5 Taste: 3/5 Overall: 3/5 - Unlike any other Korean restaurant, it comes with egg whites. The combination doesn't really gel however it is still a new experience. Sliced pork belly and spicy pork belly Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 4/5 Tast...

Palsaik Korean BBQ, Sunway Giza Mall

Image
In a Korean cuisine, BBQ is one of their signature dish. There are a lot of meats that are marinated using their own recipe before serve on the grilling plate. The common meat will be beef, pork, chicken, lamb, duck, cuttlefish and prawn. Personally I love duck and pork belly the most. Unlike any other ordinary traditional Korean restaurant, at Palsaik Korean BBQ restaurant, they only serve one meat and only one type of meat which is the pork belly. It is like a heaven to me when I know that their pork belly is marinated into 8 different kinds of taste.  Their lunch hour is extremely quiet especially during the weekdays because no one got the luxury time to have lunch break in a Korean restaurant. However, during weekends and dinner. It would be a different story all together. I have ordered their signature set of 8 colors which fit for 2-4 pax. The set comes with this big pot of spicy kimchi soup with seafood. It is really spicy for me but that is not the main point. Wha...

Torii Japanese Restaurant, Plaza Batai

Image
Torii is a Japanese pub alike restaurant with yakitori a.k.a meat skewers as their signature. They have a range of sake, red wines, champagnes and any other exotic type of alcohol beverages which you may never heard of. The most bizarre wine which cost RM15,000++ is also available here. I wonder how long does it takes for them to sell one bottle of that. The interior design is not really a place that looks like you are going to open a RM15k wine. The space is quite tight and lack privacy for you to really enjoy an expensive wine. Yakitori is their specialty so be ready for a smokey restaurant but their ventilation is way better than some Korean restaurant. You wouldn't smell too bad after dining here. Stone Bowl Rice @RM36.79 Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 4/5 Taste: 4/5 Price: 2/5 Overall: 3/5 - A bowl with full of luxurious seafood in it which can't be that bad at all. The only problem is the size. It is way too small even for a person. They need to serve a bigg...
