The Base Tea Bar, Kluang

Image
A small town like Kluang, being stand out is really important especially when in a food and beverage business. However, it is totally a different case for The Base Tea Bar. As you can see from the picture above, they are located at an alley behind a row of shops which the road is the dead end. I can't describe detail enough how secluded it is. You have to witness it by yourself. The parking here is extremely limited but you will have a plenty of parking space on Friday and Saturday where the open parking space which is reserved to Wisma Bunga will be opened to public. The interior design is more into 90s. The rattan chairs and tables are pretty limited and low. It is not convenient for dining unless you are here for their tea only. There is a staircase to lead to the first floor but they have no plan to expand yet despite limited seating available. It is an air-conditioned environment but it can be pretty hot especially during the afternoon where the sun shines di...

De A Mano Cafe, Kluang

Image
It has been a while since I have posted anything about the food in Kluang. The reason is because most of the newly opened business in Kluang does not last more than a year especially a cafe style. Unlike the others, surprisingly for De A Mano has lasted more than a year now. It is a good start for able to go through the first year. Congratulations to them, now the following year is all about hanging on and keep coming up with new recipe to keep the return customers entertained. De A Mano is in Spanish which means "by hand". This is not a Spanish restaurant but the owner is trying to bring the message to their customers that all their ingredients are freshly made especially pasta, dough and pastry products. My first impression when walking into the restaurant was the ambiance is dim and relaxing. It is perfect place to hide from the bright and scotching hot sun on the outside. I sat close to their walls and I found that it is just scrub with cement. So simple and eco...

On the Road Cafe, Kluang

Image
On the Road Cafe has already made their name in Kluang with their delicious cheesecake. I already known this cafe for some time but only now I am writing about it after being requested by some of my hometown friends. This cafe serves cheesecake, coffee and some delicious set lunch. Their main attraction is still their cheesecake which cost from RM7.90 onwards. They do sell whole cake too which you need to make an advanced booking. Not a very big cafe so the seat is very limited and they always crowded with people especially on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. You really unable to seat back and relax while having a cup of coffee with a cheesecake because there are always people roaming in to wait for a seat. You will feel pretty uncomfortable not to finish up your things to give up your seat. There are other options to get your seat which are seating at their bar table where you can watching the boss making coffee or you can seat outside the cafe where the smoking area is. Do enjo...
