Masuta Byuffe, Kuantan

Image
Masuta Byuffe is a ala-carte style buffet which is a real hype at Kuantan especially when they are not the first and only restaurant but also the only restaurant serving halal Japanese cuisine. No alcohol is served and all their ingredients got from halal certified supplier. The price is RM56 (adult) and RM23 (child) Their sashimi was really bad. It was not fresh and stink too. So skip their sashimi at all cost. They really do have a lot of choices in their ala-carte menu selection. I am trying to order as many as possible based on the most popular cuisine usually we will order. Overall, it is just an average Japanese restaurant. You can't ask for more since this is the one and only ala-carte buffet style in Kuantan. It is easily be replaced if there is other Japanese restaurant with rather interesting recipe and fresher ingredients. Service wise, there are too many waiter or waitress idle and chatting. Either they are try...

Tong Pak Fu @East Coast Mall, Kuantan

Image
Just a quick introduction about Tong Pak Fu. I had seen them everywhere but I do not get a chance to try until I am here at East Coast Mall, Kuantan. Durian Ice @RM14.80++ Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 4/5 Taste: 4/5 Price: 1/5 Overall: 3/5 - All their ice series are their signature. So I decided to try their new durian flavor. The ice is very smooth and the durian taste is definitely genuinely strong! I give a benefit of a doubt for this dessert to cost that much for just ice and few non expensive ingredients with it. Ginger Milk Pudding @RM6.80++ Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 3/5 Taste: 1/5 Price: 2/5 Overall: 2/5 - I waited almost 10 minutes for this because they claimed that they have to make it fresh. The ginger taste is extremely strong which covers up all other taste which is the milk! I do not like this dessert at all. It should be more milk taste with a little ginger kick. In addition to that, the pudding is not soft enough. Overall, it is just a commercialized desse...

Teluk Cempedak, Kuantan

Image
Talking about a commercialized beach in Peninsular Malaysia, the famous one will be Port Dickson , Pantai Batu Burok (Kuala Terengganu) , Pantai Cahaya Bulan (Kota Bahru)  and Batu Feringghi Beach (Penang). Now I am going to add another one into the list is this...Teluk Cempedak which is located just 10 minutes away from Kuantan town. They have 2 huge car parks which are chargeable at RM2.00/entry. A lot of stalls opened here. It seems like there is a demand for that. As you can see the huge company like McDonalds is not going to overlook the big crowds here everyday. Even Taiwan's Chatime is here! They were closed on that day after the news about the possibility of their pearls contain hazardous material in it. After a lot of cases in Taiwan about the pearl was exposed. Something the visitors should pay attention to when they are here. To keep it short, just avoid swimming in the rain and during the wave is strong. White sand, blue sky and blue ocean. I am ...

Restoran Wan Seafood & Tomyam Sara Thai Kitchen, Kuantan

Image
It has been 2 years for not reporting myself to Kuantan, so here I am to add additional good food from Kuantan in my blog. The name of the restaurant is Restoran Wan Seafood & Tomyam Sara Thai Kitchen. It is kinda long name for this restaurant. It is just located opposite Continental Hotel. So very easy spotting for this restaurant especially at night because they are the brightest! Squid with Cashew Nuts (small) @RM6.00 Outlook: 3/5 Creativity: 4/5 Taste: 5/5 Price: 4/5 Overall: 4/5 - Looks untidy but the taste is all that matter. Delicious squid which is the very least is not fishy but tangy. When it mixed together with the crunchy cashew nuts, they are just perfect match. The highlight of all is the chili oil sauce. Without it, this dish is just and ordinary dish. In the end, I keep scooping the chili sauce to fill with my leftover rice. We should have ordered a big portion instead. Kangkung with Oyster Sauce (small) @RM4.00 Outlook: 3/5 Creativity: 4/5 Taste...

Restoran Hoi Yin, Teluk Cempedak

Image
If you at Teluk Cempedak, Kuantan, do not ever overlook this small little restaurant which is serving extremely delicious curry mee. The restaurant name is called Restoran Hoi Yin. You may think that this is a Chinese restaurant and they may not serve halal food. If you really think like this, you really make a mistake because they are serving halal food and their Muslim customers are way more than Chinese customers. This is their place they tables arranged until next door shops. This is the auntie making the delicious curry mee! This is their price. I would like to try their mee kicap next time. Curry Mee @RM4.00 Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 4/5 Taste: 4/5 Price: 4/5 Overall: 4/5 - I like the gravy. It is not really spicy but the right spicy kick is still there. The oyster is not too fishy. Nice. They are famous but they are humble. It is very essential to sustain a business nowadays. I really enjoy when they are not showing their cocky attitude when they have ma...
