On The Table @Solaris Dutamas

It's her birthday again!!! After 4 years of friendship, we are quite bored of having a two person dinner especially for her, because she is a person who likes crowd. So this time, I arranged a birthday dinner at a restaurant called, On The Table which is opened by our famous local Chef Wan's son, Chef Mohd Nadzri Redzuawan who also known as Chef Riz. This restaurant is located at the newly developed area called Solaris Dutamas.

We do not have much mutual friends after 4 years of friendship so I am inviting every single mutual friends that I could to give her an unforgettable birthday. I am very blessed that all our mutual friends are able to join for her birthday even we had quite a hiccup locating this newly developed area.

Yes, I am purposely not telling you who is birthday girl and let you guess among here. Who do you think it should be? =)

X'mas season is just around the corner and this nicely decorated Christmas tree is just adding on the groove in our mood.

Overall: 4/5 - Very colorful bowl of salad. I love the way they decorated it. Pretty clever combination by having bread crumbs, mushrooms and an egg with the yellow yolk prepare to be poked and flood the whole salad.Yummy!

A great food presentation for a normal mushroom soup. When we tasted it, it was not normal at all.

Overall: 4/5 - Probably the best mushroom soup that I ever had and the best I ever blog here. Creamy and fragrant run through your mouth which you will be reluctant to swallow them. The mushrooms are well grilled to accompany with the soup. I wish everyone has one their own instead of sharing because it is obviously NOT ENOUGH!!!

Overall: 3/5 - A very thick pumpkin soup with a smooth butter taste. The scallops in the centre are so big and delicious. Well made crispy biscuits to accompany with the soup. Another sensational soup.

Overall: 3/5 - Scallops, clams, squid and big prawns are all over it!!! Can't you see?? All my favorite seafood making their appearance in a pizza which is well served for 8 pax. Very thin and crispy crust. Loving every bite of it. It is quite a bit of nuisance when we have to remove the clam and prawn shell.

Overall: 3/5 - Very delicious and special to me because used with olive oil, tomato paste and creamy sauce. However, I still prefer Carbonara. One thing I do not understand why is this pasta so expensive because they are not seafood and mostly I can eat is mushrooms. Unless the meat they served is a turkey instead of chicken which I earlier thought to be so.

Overall: 3/5 - Even though the overall taste of this dish is quite bad especially the garlic rice underneath it which is badly prepared because of the unevenly taste of the garlic and saltiness, I have to give the 2 marks for the fish because I like the way it melts in my mouth. However, there are quite plenty of fish bones come along with it. Quite a letdown.

Overall: 2/5 - Probably the worst dish for that night. 1 mark is for the prawn. The noodles is just too spicy for us to take. I am a person who really can take spicy food but this well beyond my level of acceptance. It is spoiling my appetite and the taste of the previous great food that I had.

Overall: 4/5 - Usually we will see the ice cream will be put on top or together with a hot chocolate cake but this one is separated. Quite unique. The chocolate cake is extremely delicious. Hot chocolate fudge melting out and the perfect thing it is not too sweet. Nice! Thank you, On The Table because this is a complimentary dessert for our birthday girl.

In conclusion, some of their food are superbly good but some are really disappointed us at some point. I think their main dishes are in need of some improvements. However, we enjoyed a lot because we are here not just to fill in our stomach but to share the laughter and joy together on the special date with a special someone. This is just an extremely enjoyable dinner session for all of us. Me, as the organizer can never be happier when able to see the person I invited are happy.


P.S: I hope we can have a trip with the same all of us in one day. Hopefully is not a dream. =D
