Next is the Deer Cave after my exploration in the Lang Cave which is sitting just next to this cave. Even there are side by side but their cave structure is totally different.
The entrance of the Deer Cave is wider, bigger and taller than Lang Cave.
It is called Deer Cave is obviously because there were a lot of deer coming in and out this cave. After men exploration into this cave, the deer has switch their habitat to another place.
The ceiling is really high and there are lack of artificial light in this cave. Everything is fully depending on the sunlight.
It is another feeling to have bright sunlight shining through the entrance of the cave. By the way, as you can see on the right side of the pillar, they said you can see the side face of the 16th president of the United States, Abraham Lincoln. The angle must be really right and you got to have the imagination for it to see it clearly.
This cave is bigger and will takes you about 15 minutes walk around the cave excluding photo shooting time.
Apart of the structure, this cave smells really bad because of the guano, bats' faeces. There are millions of bats living in this cave. If you are "lucky" enough, you might get bats dropping from above. Not just smell but you can hear the bats' sound as well in this cave.
If you cannot stand with the smell, do bring your mask before entering this cave.
The lights are insufficient and flashlight is almost useless because unable to shine this big cave. So if you would like to take photos in this cave, you have to set your aperture the highest the lens can. For example, F1.8 for my lens. ISO will be set to really high but be prepared for the grainy effect which also known as noise. ISO 6400 is my maximum grainy effect that I can accept for my photo. Next, is to reduce the speed as slow as possible so that more light will absorb into your lens. Usually I use between 1/5 - 1/10. Lastly, you need a good pair of hands and legs to avoid shaking the camera.
With the above, you almost ready to get a good picture like this. If you notice well, this picture is shaky. I do admit I am not good at keeping myself steady.
You might need a high speed continuous shot so that you able to get at least one picture that is less shaky.
There are insects everywhere in this cave. So please do not jump when you see crocroaches running around the walkway.
A type of catfish is found in the stream inside the cave.
Sorry because not many good picture that I able to capture in this cave because of the limited source of light.
Ok, as I have mentioned in my previous post before, that you will be seeing bats flying out from the cave at 5.45pm - 6.00pm for the food. Here is their assembly area. Once every bats has reported in, they will fly out in a line. If you are lucky enough again, you will see the bats will assembling around in a love shape.
Here they are coming out from the caves. Their timing is really sharp.
They are flying out in a group so you wont see a continuous line like this for the whole session. They fly out as if they are all belong to the same family and another family will fly out after the previous one has finished.
It is amazing to see the bats flying out like a shape of a dragon.
This session will continue more than an hour. Imagine millions of adult bats grouping at the entrance before flying out from the cave. This process just take a lot of time. Well, it is pleasuring for us to watch it. Below is the video for this but please pardon me because that day I did not bring any telephoto lens so no close up on the bats.
Overall, Deer Cave got nothing much excitement compare to Lang Cave but the only spectacular thing is watching millions of bats flying out from this cave. Truly amazing!
Things to bring:
1) A non-slip pair of shoes or a strap sandal
2) A bright torchlight with extra batteries just in case you running out of battery in the cave.
3) Wear shorts so that you can walk comfortably.
Total Damage: RM25/pax for 2 caves trip. Ambiance: 1/5 Freakout Level: 2/5 Recommended?: Yes

There are a few ways to explore this magical Lugu lake.In my previous post , I have shown you how to explore the inside of Lugu Lake. Now here is how to explore around the Lugu Lake. Self drive a rented electrical car at CNY300-500. The price difference is depending on the seats which is from 2 person to 4 person car. Pro: The flexibility of going around the places you wish to go. Not restraint by a time limit for staying at one spot. Can even travel in the dark Can travel far Less dangerous compare to a bicycle on the road Less tiring Not expose to the sun, rain and dust Cons: You need to find charging station if you are going to circle the whole lake. The power of the battery may not last that long Parking is a pain especially at the crowded spots such as the Lige Village and Walking Marriage Bridge/Caohai Lake Expensive You need to be a map savvy Hire a chauffeur. At first the chauffeur will offer you a very low price to attract you which is starts fro...
This is my first time dining at Sentul and glad to know this great Chinese restaurant which is known as Restoran Makanan Laut Lau Heong. This is the crowd at 6.00pm on Sunday. Crazy right? Let you see from another angle. They just own one shop lot but seems like owning an extra 4 parking space but still they are people standing and waiting for their seat including me! Curry Fish Head @RM25.00 Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 4/5 Taste: 4/5 Price: 3/5 Overall: 3/5 - This is their signature. You can choose a normal fish meat or a fish head like this. The curry is not really spicy at all. It contains more coconut milk taste than the curry itself. The fragrance of the curry and the coconut milk work perfectly. I can smell it before it is served. The fish heads are soft, tender, fresh and delicious. Highly recommend to everyone to try. Ginger Squid and Prawn @RM18.00 Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 5/5 Taste: 5/5 Price: 2/5 Overall: 4/5 - Hardly taste the ginger but what makes me...
Not really much entertainment in Sandakan even though they are just beside the sea. No nice beach for water activities and the nearest island like Pulau Selingan and Turtle Island are about 90 minutes away. As for the town itself, basically is this bowling centre called Champ's which has a very nice and good condition bowling alley, bowling shoes and bowling bowls if to compare with bowling centres like in KL. Not very big at all for their bowling centre which only has 12 lanes. Their shoes look so new! Here is a demonstration on how to bowl. Looks pro...I wonder how is the end result. So what do guys think? Is it a strike? They have a lounge here as well. And a cafe too! The price of the bowling is cost at RM4.80 per game per pax. We went at their most peak hours so their price basically has not much different than our KL City price. As for the bowling shoes is chargeable at RM2.00 per pax. FYI, the prices not inclusive government ta...
Never know about this place until I watched Ah Xian from the TV Programme which is known as "Taste with Jason". This restaurant is known as Chong Siew Lam Restaurant. No signboard to show this place but this is the only the crowded place in the whole street. They only serve for lunch so do expect great crowd roaming to this place between 12.00pm to 2.00pm. Steamed Tilapia Fish Head @RM20.00 Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 5/5 Taste: 5/5 Price: 4/5 Overall: 4/5 - Tilapia is a freshwater fish and the best is to steam it. Without a doubt, they did it very well. The meat is so fresh but what is the best part is the gravy. Not sure how they made it but it brings a little wine taste in it with spicy kick. Absolutely uniquely delicious! Steam Salted Chicken @RM22.00 Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 4/5 Taste: 4/5 Price: 3/5 Overall: 3/5 - By steaming the chicken like that, the gravy has already penetrated the entire chicken meat. If you just eat the chicken itself, it i...

Once again being a free tour guide for a group of people from Yunnan, China to Penang for some nice local delicacies. However, they were complaining about our food is not spicy enough. So since they would like spicy food, the only place I can think of in Penang is The Little Nyonya Cuisine which located at the lower ground of Gurney Plaza. Tomyam Seafood @RM18.00++ Outlook: 3/5 Creativity: 4/5 Taste: 4/5 Spiciness Level: 4/5 Price: 3/5 Overall: 3/5 - The seafood contains fish, squid and prawns only which is not bad at all. I would consider their seafood is fresh. The best part is the tomyam soup which is very spicy enough to numb your whole tongue and jaw. Nyonya Asam Pedas Ikan Pari @RM18.00++ Outlook: 3/5 Creativity: 4/5 Taste: 4/5 Spiciness Level: 5/5 Price: 3/5 Overall: 3/5 - The stingray is soft and delicious but the only problem was the moment the gravy touched my tongue, I already can taste the crazy spiciness in it which is far greater than the ...
As I mentioned before in my Simple Life Tracy's Kitchen post , vegetarian cuisine has becoming a trend these days and a lot of restaurant coming out with a lot of ideas to make sure you know the food they served are authentic. At Veggie Planet, they are displaying everywhere in their restaurant to tell you that they guarantee you that the food they served does not contain any artificial coloring & preservative and does not contain any poison starch product. Are you convinced? I am. I can see how the owner spent in this restaurant by showing how "organic" they are. Selling other products and free health magazine for you to read. Too bad it is in Chinese. Having two shop lots combined which has made this restaurant big and with a lot of ample spaces. I like the privacy feel. Welcoming us with a nice tiny cup of refreshing Darjeeling tea. Nice! Organic Soya Milk @RM4.90 - delicious and I can taste a lot of protein in it! Brown Rice Chocolate @...

Prawn Dumplings @RM6.90++ Outlook: 4/5 Creativity: 4/5 Taste: 5/5 Price: 3/5 Overall: 4/5 - The prawn that is hidden inside the dumpling skin is so big and tangy. It is so fresh which you wish there is more than a prawn inside it. Absolutely delicious!
