BBQ Thai @Old Klang Road

BBQ Thai is located along the busy Jalan Kelang Lama towards Puchong. The parking here is ample even the restaurants is crowded like this. It is obviously a Thai cuisine restaurant but their signature is their BBQ food.
There are plenty of tables in this restaurant and there are many private rooms decorated very interestingly like this. There is a minimum spending in a private room like this or else charges will be applied.
Tom Yam Seafood Soup (S) @RM22.00++

Overall: 2/5 - This is their small portion seafood tom yam which can easily serve 4-5 pax. The tom yam is quite spicy but it doesn't give you the desire to drink anymore of it. Usually a good tom yam soup for me is spicy enough to make running nose and sweat over it but you still wanted to continue to drink them. It is that amazing. However, this does not have that kind of magic. Furthermore, the soup is more than the ingredients itself.

Thai Coconut Otak Seafood
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 5/5
Overall: 4/5 - This is a MUST order. The otak otak made from fresh fish and with a little spicy kick in it which enough to make you to finish up their whole rice. There are soft and tender coconut meat in it too which has added extra texture in this dish. Simply amazing. I can have it all by myself.

Fried Kangkung @RM13.00++

Overall: 3/5 - I have never eat a vegetable that is fried like a fried chicken style. It looks and sound weird but amazingly it tastes real good. It is a good snack with beer.

BBQ Pork Ribs @RM48.00++
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 3/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 3/5 - When you are here, you just have to order their signature BBQ food. This is their latest meat on their menu so we decided to order it. It took more than 20 minutes to serve. So please be prepared to wait. They BBQ their food till it is real dry and highly depending on the sauce to bring out the taste in it. Not a lot of people like this style of BBQ but to those who loves to dine here are those who accept this kind of BBQ method. I only able to eat a few pieces before I gave up when there are not enough sauce to cover the leftover pork ribs. I still prefer Japanese's kushiyaki or yakiniku style in BBQ where the taste is embedded inside the meat and it is released once you sink your teeth into it.

Overall, it is not a bad BBQ Thai restaurant with different concept like the usual we used to have. There are many other dishes I have yet to try so I believe there are still some good ones in it. However, for me, if a Thai restaurant can't even make their Tom yam right is really a sin.
