Hommed Baga, Gadong

Today I was highly recommended by my newly met Bruneian friends to this awesome restaurant which is know as Hommed Baga. In English, it means Homemade Burger. The restaurant is not very big but easily full during lunch and dinner hour. We were there early to avoid the crowd.

This is the counter which looks bare and nothing. However, what makes this restaurant so awesome is yet to come. This restaurant is practicing self-service.

The owner started from a small burger stall into a chain restaurant like this. He has owned 3 chain restaurants all over Brunei. The reason he is this good is because he will never use processed meat. The meat he served are minced by themselves. That's why it is homemade. Not just that, even their sauce is their very own recipe.

Overall: 3/5 - Ladies and gentleman, this is the 8 inch chicken burger. The chicken meat is so juicy and delicious. You can taste the texture of the meat is fresh and definitely is home made. The best part is the sesame bun. The bun is so fragrant enough to enhance the whole burger taste.

That's how you see the inside of it. They got the buttery shiitake mushroom which give you the extra crunchy sensation. This 8-inch portion is good for 2 pax. It is impossible for me to finish it alone. There are a record holder to finish this burger alone in 3 minutes. Crazy guy!

Overall: 4/5 - This is their biggest burger in the restaurant and also their signature. This is a 12-inch size burger. Can easily feed 4 pax. It is the same ingredients like the chicken burger but I would prefer this lamb burger more. The tangy and chewy lamb meat is really fragrant enough to open up your appetite. I can finished two pieces of this all by myself.

This is how it is look like from the top. It is like a pizza to us. We are unable to finish it because it is just too big.

This is how it is looks like inside. The sauce and the meat are all homemade with their own secret recipe. You can make an advanced booking for these big sized burger because it takes more than 15 minutes to serve to us. The reason is all their burger is made fresh!

Overall, this restaurant is really amazed me because they made a unique Only in Brunei burger. I really hope they will open a franchise in Malaysia. This is going to hit the market in Malaysia. We had enough of American burgers! Please bring in something Asian!
